My female still hasent let my male do his thing she always out-slithers him lol.
They are both in the blue at the moment so hopefully they get the job done,
What are your opinions do you think there is hope? maybe after she sheds again she will become receptive?
Thanks

Well, it's getting a little late in the season but I would still try for a month or two. Are you keeping them together or separately? If together, they might be mating when you aren't looking. If apart, I would put them together once a week, say every Sunday evening, for about an hour. If they don't breed, she isn't ready and can go back to her home for a week.

I would put them in a pretty bare bin, with a lid of course, with either newspaper or nothing on the floor, so you can see "evidence" of mating. Before putting them in I would lightly mist the breeding bin. I would put the female's shed skin in the bin, and lightly mist that. The pheromones from the shed can encourage the male to try harder. I would put them together in the evening, especially if it is raining outside.

Another question.. are you sure that you have a 1.1 pair? I had an experience where we bought a 1.1 pair of hypo bull snakes from someone who said he could not get them to breed, so after a 4 hour drive to pick them up and another 4 hour drive home, it was discovered that they were a 2.0 group. Not fun.

Definitely give her another month since she is going to shed soon. I've had females wait until after their 2nd and even their 3rd post-brumation shed to become receptive to the male. Unfortunately, sometimes by the time the female accepts the male, it's too late for the eggs to be fertilized and you just end up with a clutch of slugs. I wouls recommend that you also try another male, or even 2 others, as some females simply refuse to let a particular male breed them after being with him for hours or even days but will hook up literally in seconds with a different male.

Thanks everyone!,both the male and the female shed this morning so i put them in a tub with her shed and misted the cage. The male immediately put his face in the shed than started chasing her around he has got her pinned down right now but she will not open up enen when his tail is under hers.

Sega, we still basically can try to the end of November with our Corns. After that give it up.

I have a female that bred for 5 years and for the past 3 years has not allowed any male to hooh with her. She is a spinster now, and I do not even waste my time putting males with her. She is just the family pet now.

Some good advise was given here, put another male in with them, he will either cause your original male to try more strongly or maybe even get it right himself.
