Last summer I got babies from combination of amber het. amela and amela. As I expected, half of hatclings were normal and half amela. But now, when the amela cubs are year old, they don't have any red! The parents are not related and here in Finland we don't have a lot of hybrids, so the probability of being creamsicle is not big. Or what do you think? Here is some photos.

This is how they looked when they were little:

These are the parents (sorry for bad photos):

Thanks for helping! (And sorry for bad english! ;) )

Sometimes (not always) when Amels are het Caramel, they're more orange/yellow then a standard Amel. I believe that is why yours look so drastically different and it's certainly nothing to worry about.

Thank you for answer! I was wondering the same thing in Finnish forum and the first answer was that maybe there is somewhere creamsicle. ;) But luckily you always learn something new!:)

With what looks like a complete lack of any red...That could be a Butter ( full on homo amel AND caramel genes). The Amel could have been het caramel also?

That would be another possible reason...BUT the hatchling photo proves that it is obviously an Amel rather then a Butter.

^^ And if the amela is het. caramel, the hatclings should be 25% amela, 25% butter, 25% caramel and 25% normal, shouldn't they? And there came only normal and that wierd orange amela. :)

BTW, now when I started thinking more, it was quite obvious that the amela het. caramel can be something between standard amela and butter. It is not first time I see that het. colour "comes out". For example friend of mine have anery het. amela & hypo, and that snake is like pastel anery. :)
