Male. I'm pretty sure I can *see* the hemipenes in that photo.

When you hold your snake up to a light, you should see a red/purple area past the vent, heading up the tail for a cm or so: those are the hemipenes.
 
I think male because of the overall length, the thickness directly after the vent and the long dark spot in the second photo, directly after the vent.
