We just got our first cornsnake on sunday at the Pamona show. We got him from Paradise Reptiles, im pretty sure ive seen Gene on this forum. They were so helpfull and gave us alot of great information. We have a bearded dragon(Sully) thats about 3 months old and then our yet to be named cornsnake that we are told is about 5 yrs old. We are still learning alot but from what i can tell this forum is the right place for that.

This is sully, as we have learned more about bearded dragon care the misguided setup for him is being fixed on payday friday.

Thats a nice looking snake :) Congratulations!
Becarefull about the "addiction" It snags you by the collar and never lets you go.

Well then its a good thing I have that other part of my life that will grab me by the collar and drag me away. Aka, my wife lol. Although she is tho one who picked both these guys out.

I'm glad you like him Ben, he is a great guy
and has never been shy about eating except
if he is in deep blue.. if you ever have any questions
you can always shoot me a PM or e-mail.

We havent handled him alot yet but the short time we did he kept trying to burrow under the couch cushions...i know where im looking first if god forbid he does escape. He's so calm and thats what Kate loved about him, not too squirmy to make her nervous. Once again thank you guys so much.

Congrats on you new beautiful snake!! Also welcome to the forums! As some have said corns are addicting, you can't have just 1... Lol

Thank you very much. I now have a question for everyone. Does snake crap stain the carpet? we were just layin in the sun and bam he pooped all over my carpet. It smelled horrific. I scrubbed it right away so hopefully it isnt permanent.

WoooHooooo!! Another San Diegian. We've had it happen several times. You should be ok. I always put an old beach towel for the to sun on just because of the pooping they love to do when out of the cage. Oh yea...welcome to the forum.

Thats a great idea. I will definatly be doing this. But ill have a hard time not just throwing the towel out. Today was my first snake poop and it was horrible. Smelly nasty and runny. The wife is going to be on poop duty from now on. LOL

yes... it is nasty!!! I have had it happen as well... Even had one go on a customer... she still bought the snake lol!

I got mine on the 12th this month, but I got a baby corn. I think is about 17" long. Congratulations on your new snake!
