Hooked for life!!
Well I fed Maize tonight and she ate very quickly and happily..I knew she was going to shed any time now since her skin had cleared after being so dull and her eyes weren't blue anymore...I put her back in her tank after she ate..about a half hour after putting her back I just went in to check on her and she had JUST finished coming out of the skin...I had MISSED seeing her shed by SECONDS!...oh well..I am happy because now she has a full belly and is out of that old itchy skin..Her colors look great as always and she seems happily content..It was a nice full complete shed but I misted her tank one more time just to make sure any left over pieces could slide off while she slithers through her home..I'm going to check her in 2 days also just to make sure..but the shed does look complete..I am one happy mom :0) :grin01:

Its neat watching a snake shed, especially the big ones. But I always thought it was bad feeding during the last bit of the shed cycle. I thought it could hurt them? :shrugs:

Hmm..thats good to hear. I fed a cal king (albino) and I couldn't even tell she had finnished her blue phase or even started it for that matter. She is a tricky one because of her coloring lol

oh yeah no kidding I got a snow and a black rat snake and they are near impossible to tell unless you look at their eyes.

Well I'm glad to hear I didn't hurt her..She seems very happy..right now she is exploring her tank..(she's strange like that..You would think snakes would hide after eatting..instead..she explores more after eatting..and now that she shed..I can really see her colors...She is getting so bright and vibrant..but her colors are going to be very deep...I really am happy I have such a beauty...(wow..I'm really ranting about my snake..I'm sorry guys..you all have beauties to..I just love Maize :0) ) :grin01: :grin01:

Thats one of the reasons I love this forum...I can talk all I want about my snakes here and no one to tell me to shut up because they are afraid of snakes.

I have almost never seen my corns shed. They seem to wait until you get tired of watching for it and the second you leave.....I've seen my green tree pythons shed often. Glad she ate and shed for you. I've never had a problem with feeding before shed except with 2 babies from last years clutch. They were problem feeders anyway so they were just trouble makers fromt he start :)

Like waiting for a horse to have a foal!

I've seen a few of my corns shed from start to finish. Have even had one start the process in the palm of my hand a couple times...

As has been said...some snakes eat while blkue, some don't. Some will sometimes, but not all the time. It just depends on the snake. They either eat, or don't...but it won't hurt them one bit to offer...
