Mike 171 I'm not stupid I expect that a snake like that would cost a min. of $1000. or higher. Next time dont be rude when some one asked a simple question. You dont know what I can or cant afford. Dont make assumptions.

He was not being rude, just making a joke. Take a breath and relax:D

I have heard that next year the males will be $2,000 and the females will be $1,200 does that help.
John

Hmm, usually you see the females as more...

He was not being rude, just making a joke. Take a breath and relax:D

Yeah, I'm sure no offense was meant. "If you have to ask, you probably can't afford it" is kind of a running joke here ^_^. No worries, you aren't the first person I have seen this told to... and I doubt you'll be the last.

With a dominant morph I can understand why the males might be more.. Anything you breed them to is going to make Tesseras. Maybe we can then expect the price to come down fast with all those numbers, lol. But then we'll have morphs. Worth every penny I'm sure!

And yes they are very exciting... I can't wait to see them in more shades!

Wonder what blood would do with that?

That's almost definitely wrong.

To everyone interested in these guys: no price has been set yet since we don't know if there is a super or not. I want everyone to understand that. Any price you might hear is nothing more than a rumor at this point. As one of the three actually involved with currently breeding this morph, I won't even state if the above rumor is even a decent ballpark estimate. I don't want anyone getting any false ideas. If things go well, I should have some hatch out in a couple of months, and I probably won't even decide on a price until after they begin to hatch! All I will say right now is that that the prices on them if there is a super will be commensurate with that fact. I also do not believe that any of us are planning to give a definitive price until I (hopefully) confirm if there is a super form or not in a few months.

PLUS, I entrusted that animal to Rob in accordance with Don and Graham's encouragement. Actually, I handed 2 to Rob and I let him pick out which one he liked the most to own. The other one was returned to me in Daytona. It's still back there in my feeding/keeper rack right now. This is a combined project between Don, myself, and Graham (& now Rob has his amazing hand into the pot, too.). The animal that Rob now owns? Well, let's just say it was community property at best and leave it at that. It's nobody's business but mine, anyway.

Don (SMR) had told me that you got one of these that he hatched, he/she is very cool. For those of you that have not read KJ's thread on these corns this is a form of dominate gene. You can breed any morph of corn with this one and get hatchlings that would have this pattern. No waiting 2 generations to get a pattern or color.
John

then TomE mentioned..

I totally agree..

Rob, I'm sad to say you have lost your touch. Those animals are all just pathetic examples of their morphs. To spare you any further embarrassment I'll take them off your hands. I'll even pay shipping. Obviously you were far more effected by the hurricane than you let on, but as a friend I'll step in and help you save face. Send them as soon as possible so that the healing can begin.;)

Terri, How generous of you. :eatsmiley now get behind me :crazy01:

That's what I was thinking...males would be more expensive because you could cover multiple females per season. I would love to see the effect on the bloods!

Patience is a virtue... Virtue is highly overrated!

But you will let us drool over them right?

But you will let us drool over them right?

KJ is pretty good about drooling, as long as you keep it off the carpet, or at least clean up after yourself. Let me tell you, things do not look good for KIII these days. (note: nothing actually wrong with him, just a drool joke)

Yes... I think I will keep these. Thank you!

As was stated earlier - I'm happy its a dom. gene so that hopefully the price will come down quickly - otherwise I might DIE from the desire to have one...

LOL that first one is a Thamnophis dude! ;)

That Aztec has such an even pattern, maybe this is caused by a separate gene?

that is not an aztec, it is caused by a new gene and it is called 'terresa'. it is a dominant/co-dominant/incompletely dominant new gene. read the link posted earlier for more info.

oh, and they are stunning KJ, love them. very nearly decided to get an 09 but am thinking that i will wait until prices have dropped as i expect they will rapidly.

Ah, usually i do read everythign before posting but not this time.... exciting there is a new pattern morph!

oops, just realised that i spelt the morph name completely wrong.... i meant 'Tessera'. lol

Yeah, as long as someone doesn't mind waiting 3-4 years and only wants one because of the unique look, I understand waiting. The price will drop. I don't think we'll see much drop until 2011 (since the first few individuals won't get sold until 2009), but by then I'll be making a bunch of Tessera combo morphs. Then, people will want a lavender Tessera or an albino Tessera (imagine a Tessera albino Okeetee with thick white lines down the back??) or a blood Tessera or a Ghost Tessera or an Ice Tessera or an.......Yeah, we expect to be getting those by then, and we'll have a whole new crop of eye candy.

Those that get in early might beat us, but those that can't wait those couple of short years will save a good deal of money on regular Tesseras.....unless the see some Tessera morph they want more.....lol.

With cornsnakes, that's always the problem. They are evil. Just when you get USED to something, they pop out with something else new......lol.
