Well, since very few people even bothered voting in this poll, I assume they really don't care either way. So over the next week or so, this site is going to be converted over to the new version of vBulletin. During the transition the site will certainly be locked down and closed, so if you try to log in and can't, that will likely be the reason behind it.
I believe there are some nice features worth having in the new version, and definitely some tools for the admin that will make my life much easier.

EEk! Cornsnake down while I am expecting HATCHLINGS! ARGH... hehe it's okay though, because I'm expecting hatchling kingsnakes too... I'll just post more there in the "general chit chat" if I just HAVE to share about my cornsnake hatchlings (if they EVER pip).
I think that while this format is very comfortable, very familiar, the other format will become that quite quickly, and after a short bit of time we won't feel the loss of the old forum out of enjoyment of the new forum design!
In the meantime those who haven't checked it out, SHOULD check out the kingsnakes website!

I don't think this will be down long. The guy doing this for me is a real expert with vBulletin and will have it up in no time at all.
I think once you all get used to being able to upload multiple images in a message, and have thumbnails for each of the photos, plus several other bells and whistles (I believe you can change the entire appearance of the site in your profile), you will wonder how you ever got along without it.
Remember when we switched over from that archaic format of the original forum? There was some groaning back then as well, but no one died because of it.
I'll give you as much warning as I can about when the switchover will be taking place. In the meantime, you might want to bookmark KingSnakes.com now so you have some place to hang out for a little bit. Ane you might just want to get a jump on getting familiar with the new design as well, I guess. Can't hurt to have a couple of resident experts to help everyone along in the transition. Heck, it's probably going to take me a couple of days to go through all of the options in the admin section to make sure I have them all set right. Figuring out how to get avatars working on kingsnakes.com wasn't all that easy to figure out.....

The switchover will be taking place after 4:00 am EST TONIGHT (Saturday morning - 07/03/04). It would be a real good idea to not attempt to post any messages after 3:30 am and until you see the new format operational. It is entirely possible that anything you post after that deadline could be lost.
