Kiran - Ghost Bloodred (Possible Pied) Progression thread

Jenn_Tigercat

Got Ghosts?
Since people have asked for a progression thread on Kiran thought I would go ahead and start one. She is my ghost bloodred from John. I believe that I am definitely seeing pied in her. Will probably update this every couple of months or after each shed to show how she does. These pictures are from today and yes she is in a box. It was the only way I could get her to stay still for five minutes.

Sweet lookin' ghost blood! Look at that diffusion and or pied! Very nice either way. A little difficult for me to tell if its solid white, or just really good diffusion.

Its not solid white yet but with them being so light in color it makes it hard to tell. The white is starting to come through though.

I'm definitely seeing some non pigment spots in Kiran in these photos. It can be difficult to tell the difference between really good diffusion and pied spots on these lighter snakes, but I am definitely seeing some white spots in these photos.

As I said in my PM, camera and lens quality really makes a difference in picking up pied spots on lighter snakes. If you do end up getting a nicer camera in February, I look forward to seeing higher quality macro shots!

Do you have any baby photos of Kiran on your comp to add to this progression? I've observed from looking at pictures of other pied Anery morphs it seems as though sometimes it is easier to see their pied markings in baby photos when they are their most contrast-y. It gets harder and harder to tell as they get older.

And finally, I've always thought the 4 sisters look very similar. Here are photos of Lyra looking very pied.

These photos do a good job showing the difference between great diffusion and lack of pigment. A point and shoot camera might not pick up such subtle differences though.

Lyra happens to be in shed right now (not represented in these photos), and while I can see her pied markings, I want to stress that they are also highly visible to the naked eye when she is fresh shed. What you see in these photos is definitely easier to see due to the camera's quality, but it is not bringing out anything that is not already visible.

Also, here's one last photo of Lyra as a baby. I only suspected her pied sidedness here. As she's gotten older she's started to darken up, something that seems almost opposite to other pied sided Granites or GHBRs I've seen photos of.

Here are the other sisters. I'm not sure which one Kiran is, but I'm sure you will have an easier time picking her out.

This Kiran: Can tell from the pattern at her neck :)

These pictures are taken with the new camera :) I ended up buying it sooner, more of a Christmas present to me :) I am in love with my new camera. I always knew their diffusion was awesome by how their patterns are so unfinished. Makes me think that some one forgot to finish painting them lol. She has become more and more diffused and her back markings seem to be disappearing more and more. I started to notice the white once she started eating steadily and messaged John about it. Now I am seeing it more and more. I never really did see it in her when she was baby, just thought that she had really good diffusion.

here are some baby shots.

She is looking great, I am pretty sure I am seeing some pied there. I am looking forward to see what the parents will produce this year.

LOL no worries Jessica I know what early hours can do to a person. I love the camera and was really impressed with how well it showed Jareth and Lucifer's colors.
