Most of us have little babies that like to sit on the ledges.
Recently I have found Kade up on his. He used to do it when I first got him then he dident and now he is back to doing it. I dont have any problem with it unlike some other people. But my problem is how do you get them down saftley? the first time it happened I dident know he was there and lifted the lid and he fell :[ he has stuff in his tank so he dosent just land in soft bedding. Anyway the reason I am wondering this now is because I'm going to be in Maine and my sister is going to be comming to change the water and I dont want her just lifting the lid and having my babies fall and get hurt.
Does anyone know of a safe way of getting them down (other then to wait for them to come down on their own.)

thanks and sorry for any grammar/spelling mistakes its 12:01 and I was just in the car for 2 hours and I had no sleep last night :[

I can think of no way to make a snake get down from his high perch in a timely manner. Your sister is either just going to have to wait him out or take the lid off when needed and let him fall. Snakes fall off their perches quite often and are extremely resilient to getting hurt from these minor falls. I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Thanks Susan I wasent too sure if if it were going to hurt them a lot. Now I know what you mean 15 minutes after this post i heard a little thud. It was Luna falling down lol!

and Nanci, I tried that but not very hard what I ended up doing was opening the lid very very gently and reallyyy slow then he ended up wrapping around the edge of the tank a little then I picked him up and put him back down. The problem is my sister is basicaly horrified of snakes and when my mom told her she was on water changing duty she said "I have to put my hand in there?" lol

I really would love her to meet Tasha or Lilly (user JenC.'s 10 ft burmese) hahaha :D

My baby kept getting on the ledge between the tank and lid. ( got out twice) What we did is put weather stripping around the edge.
