letting your corn free roam outside?

just wondering if anyone let their snake free roam their yard in the grass just to have some fun. or do they move to fast and wouldnt be able to pick them back up and end up chasing them around the neighborhood.

You can easily catch a cornsnake at its fastest speed. Watch out for hawks- stay close to the snake. Don't put the snake down by anything it could burrow into that you couldn't get it out of. Don't look away. they like it when you sit on the ground and they can venture out away from you and then back under you for security.

My snakes move the same outside as inside. If you would put your snake on the floor/bed/whatever inside without worry, the same can be done outside. Stay close and watch them.

FinFang (corn): Explores fearlessly, moves in slow circles mostly
Amel Boy (corn): Just want's to hide, I don't keep him out long
Moss (boa): Just sits in the grass and doesn't move
Thanagar (spotted python): explores a bit
Cardassia (boa): doesn't go outside because she's a super freaky ball of bitey stress

depends on the snake, your backyard set up, and your comfort level really.

I use invisible fence, the hard part is getting the collar to stay on though...

Actually they do fine outside, I usually avoid thick brush where they can wrap around branches making it a pain to get them out...

Cornelius loves going outside when it's warm. He slowly inches along exploring. He seems a bit nervous but too curious to want to leave

If you're worried just keep a hand on or very near to the snake until you get comfortable with it's movement, or how fast it will move.

thank you all for the info. i think once it gets nicer out around 75-85 degrees outside ill let him roam. :) the info was greatly appreciated.
