Checking the BOI is always the best thing to do when looking to do business with someone you don't know.

Maybe this isn't the best place to post this particular poll, but I'll answer the question anyway. I have purchased two snakes from them, one at a show and one online. Both are in excellent health and the company itself is very good to deal with. They answered my questions and sent me a picture of a snake for sale on their site (that didn't have a pic on their site) when I asked for one. I would recommend them.
 
I've purchased stuff from their shop in Oceanside, CA and they were very accommodating. I had to return something that didn't fit right on my viv and they took it back no problem. The shop was clean and their animals looked well cared for.

I agree this might not be the appropriate place to post this question! :eek: But since you asked, my ghosts are both from LLL when they were at the expo here in NM. The only complaint I have is that one of my snakes was missexed but that can happen to anyone. Since it turned out I have 2 girls I'm not complaining. Otherwise I am VERY happy with them, they are beautiful, eat great, and are growing like weeds.
 
BOI is a place where you can search for good and not so good information on individuals and business that are involved in the reptile trade. Follow the link I gave you and check it out.
 
Since you asked... Can't say I've ever bought a snake from them. I've purchased a pair of millipedes though, and the two of them seem to be thriving. I do know someone who'd bought a tarantula from them that died within a few days, but I can't vouch for the housing situation the critter was in, so...

...no recommendation either way.

I've purchased snakes from LLL Reptiles twice. My first was an Apricot Pueblan Milk Snake (male) at the 2003 NARBC Philly Show, and the second was a female Chihuahua Mountain Kingsnake at the 2004 NARBC Philly show. Both snakes have thrived for me and at both shows the LLL Representative was helpful and informative. Even pointed me in the right direction to another breeder when he didn't have something else I was looking for.

I would not hesitate to purchase another snake from LLL Reptile.

How funny this thread came up, I was just recently looking at their site and wondering if I should buy a ball from them....but didnt know anything about them. Glad you have had good experiences with them.
 
One thing that bugs me about the site though....there is no option to choose what sex of the animal you want. I dont get it.....I want a female ball....grrr

Oh, and random question....does anyone have an iguana here? I'm looking into buying one, I love big snakes and big lizards, but wanted to know peoples opinions on males vs females as solitary pets.
 
They respond very quickly to emails, and faster to phone calls. If you want a female ball, just contact them. The snake I wanted didn't have a picture on their site so I emailed and asked them for one. They had it the next day.
 
I guess it just depends on what you buy from them to accurately answer the question/poll. But I vote for better options next time. ;)

I've bough both animals and supplies from them.

They're good for supplies in smaller quantities, like deli-cups from Superior in non-100 lot amounts. ;)

They're also good too, or were, for incubating medium in smaller amounts. But now that I need more, that isn't so much of an issue anymore.

As for animals, I frequently order my feeder anoles from them because they're the ONLY place I can find them at to keep my supply in the freezer stocked for stubborn corn hatchlings. Somehow its more cruel to feed a lizard to a snake than mice, go figure.

I also ordered a baby ball from them about 3 years ago than croaked on me within a month. It was my first ball and I'm sure husbandry wasn't exactly kosher and a necropsy revealed a heavy parasite load. So I had to wonder if their 'CBB' meant Captive Bred and Born, or Caught Bush Baby. But I'll just chalk it up to a bad supplier. I was reimbursed so I'm not complaining.

I've heard good things about their inverts as well, so I just depends on what you get and if you're prepared for it.

But they've been extremely helpful and easy to deal with when e-mailed. Hope that helps. =)
 
I emailed them about the ball and said I could definitely get a female, so if i decide to go with one then that is what I will do. I have been thinking about getting an igunana instead of the ball. I have always been fascinated with them, I know they are a lot of work, and I have been researching for weeks. So now I'm just trying to decide what animal I want around for 15yrs or so :)

As of right now the igunana is winning. :cheers:
 
My friend bought a female ghost from them and it has been nothing but problems health wise. They acted like they did not really have a care in the world about it. He had spent a bunch of money there on other animals and yet with this one ... problems.
So both good and bad.

My boyfriend's younger brother Ian has an iguana. She is a sweetheart-- loves to be petted/rubbed. Doesn't like being picked up, but otherwise adores attention. Very calm and friendly. She bonded with the 2 kittens we got last year and they are often seen together in her cage (they built a huge cage outside Ian's room that she can walk out the window into and the kittens love playing in it).
