Loose wires on lid? Swimming?

The corners of my lid have a couple tiny wires that are pointing out, I bent them inward, but they are still there.

I want to be extra cautious, what can I put over them to cover it?? what Kind of tape is ok?

Also, Is it okay to set the snake down in his water bowl, not face first obviously?

Not sure what to tell you about covering the wire Baller. I'll let one of the more experianced people here handle that one.

I've seen lots of pics on the site the last few months of snakes in the water bowls, so I don't think that's a problem at all. . . in fact, looks like some of the snakes were enjoying it

Just a follow up on this one.

If it's the same bowl she drinks out of, you'll want to check it when they comes out, or you take it out. . . .there's a thread on here somewhere about the effects bathing have on some snakes. . . . Mine is like this, Water helps them "Go" sometimes, so you may have to change the water when you put them in there.

2 of my snakes go in their water bowl quite frequently. I have to check them everyday to see if I have to wash them out.

With the wire still sticking out, if you have something to where you can clip the wire off, and then use a nail file to "sand" it down, that's going to be your best option. As far as swimming, look for some of Nanci's pictures of her snakes swimming. They seem to love it!

If you can't clip the wires so that they are safe you can cover them with silicone sealant or hot glue.

It just has to cover the points. Hot glue is quicker and has no fumes.
Someone here recommended it to cover the wire ends of the fake leaves.

i have the same prob i wanna put a temputure thing into my viv and the wire going into is i have to stick to the side and dunno what to use

You can use hot glue or aquarium sealant/silicone to secure the wire, if you use the sealant/silicone then you must make sure it's fully cured (completely dry with no smell remaining) before allowing the snake back into the tank :)
