Lost Snake?

Well, I wasn't sure what section to put this in, but my corn got out sometime this morning or last night. Any tips on finding him? He's probably in my room somewhere, but my room is kind of a mess. I'm freaking out though, and this is really stressing me out. This is the second time he's gotten out as well (the first time was in my car though...) But anyways any tips would be great!
 
You can double over painters tape and put it along the walls and in front of the door. This should catch the snake should he decide to slither over the tape.

Also, if you have one of those fake log hides, make sure your snake is not in there somewhere - they can crawl up into those branches and you'd never know they were there. That is where our 'lost' snake ended up being.
 
Yeah i've read a LOT of topics on missing snakes who've turned out to be hiding inside those log hides. They really should stop selling those.

As for the missing snake, they don't normally go far from their enclosure at first, at least from my experience, last time my snake went missing it was less than a meter from the enclosure, hiding beneath my keyboard.
 
I had one corn about 15 years ago(man I am old) escape. I found him a month later in a drawer. Curled up and sleeping. lol.
 
Still haven't found him, he wasn't in a log hide. I'm afraid I'm not going to find him. because my room has so any places for him to be, since he's so small. He's only like a foot or so.
 
Put out plastic bags over night and stay up with a flash light close by and then just listen.. if you hear rustling, turn on the light to the source of the sound.
 
I bummed for a whole day thinking mine was gone, but it was waaaaaaay up in the hollowed out branch of her hide. Make positive sure yours isn't doing the same. Also, mine suddenly started burrowing under ground recently. Be sure to check that too.

A side note on that one particular resin hide: I left a bad review on Petsmart's website about how unsafe this hide is, and it miraculously never showed up on their site, and of course the hide is still in the store.
 
so i checked the log we have in the cage and there are holes all around and it happened to snap in half one day and there are a bunch of ways it could be hiding inside it but the holes to get in are small around.

Yeah, I found mine deep inside the tip of the hollowed-out log.
 
Okay, so I checked all over my house for mine, but couldn't find him anywhere. I had put down flour in a line across the inside of my door, but I found out he was hiding in the small stack of laundry next to the desk that held his viv. I found out he slithered through the door (i.e. flour) and began searching more tediously outside. Found him in the bathroom. Or just keep a towel stuffed tightly under your door. It will keep him in, but go through everything near your viv and you should find him. :)
 
I had one escape once for 6 weeks. His cage was in the spare bedroom. I started changing and shaking out the sheets for a Christmas time visitor, and /whump/ out he thumped from being wrapped up in the bedspread. Hungry but fine. Fortunately he was a couple years old and about 2 1/2 - 3 ft long, and an inch or so in diameter. We *thought* we'd searched that bedroom with a fine-tooth comb...

I'm not going to discuss the, ahem, 4 that have escaped this year, 1 yearling that I *found*, 2 hatchlings lost, and one lost *this morning* that I've not given up on quite yet, he's got to be in that nice new ex-african violet/snake room *somewhere*, the door closes just way too tight. (sigh...)

I'm just going to say that, the bigger he/she is, the better your odds of seeing the durn thing...

see this snake should be about 2 years old and is probably a foot long. I am thinking its in my room because my lamp was unplugged and nobody was in my room and I heard rustling around the other night but couldnt tell where it was coming from.
 
If your corn is 2 years old, it should be well over a foot. :/ But that's a good sign, the rustling! :D
