Resident Boa Fanatic
Hey everyone,
I have placed an order on March at a local importer here who dealt with a big time whole-seller in the US.
I placed my order, which had cost a pretty penny to say the least... all without knowing what I'm going to end up with.

The priciest of the lot were a pair of blood boas.

As you can imagine, having the animals go through so many stations... I imagined I'll get a sub-par pair of Colombian X Central American crosses.

To cut a lengthy story short, after speaking with Sean from Exotics By Nature, it was confirmed that:
1- The pair came from them, and they are renowned Boa breeders.
2- The pair is from 2009, giving me a rather large boost, and are 66% het Anery type II.
3- They are PURE Central Americans... which is not very common in the US.

Having considered this, and my general preference to smaller Boas, I have decided to redirect my focus to Central American Boas.

I of course will continue working with my Hog Isle crosses and will probably mix what I have with the blood/leopard genes, but I will also keep pure Central stock, and will probably lean more towards that.

I love boas, but the size can be a bit much... especially if you keep dozens of them.

I am very happy with the news...

Thanks for peeking :)

Congrats, Oren! They look great and it looks like a very nice re-focus on your "life mission". :)

I assume that there were other animals in the shipment then??? You did say that this pair were the "priciest of the lot". :)

There were many, but I only got the male out of pair of Leopard Boas, this pair, and a hypo Hog.

Here's the hypo hog:

and here's the leopard:

There also many ball pythons, few more boas, GTP's and Emerald Tree Boas which I did not take.

Very nice! I imagine a Type II Anery Blood would be an awesome animal!

IF they are het, yeah. But you can't really know until they breed...
I am not that keen on Anery morphs because they steal all the pretty oranges and reds away... but I wouldn't mind it popping here and there.

Wow Oren those bloods are awesome and hollys$%^& that hypo is my fav of the group, u should send it my way.....lol...Great pick ups!!

I managed to enhance my CA stock today, heeeheeheee.
Wait 'til evening and I'll post some pictures.

Oren.

Hypo Hogg= Sunset cross technically speaking... I have quite a few of those :grin01:

Dwarf'sih Boas are really what I want my collection to be about.

So, finally managed to acquire the last of the CA morphs I really coveted... which is kind of funny cause it's the cheapest and most common of the lot...
