Mixed Bag of Tessera Babies

My 2016 eggs are finally hatching after a long wait! Both the parent snakes have a bunch of possible hets, so that always makes an interesting clutch.

Loretta, my tessera, laid 16 eggs (and a few slugs in a second clutch). One of the eggs went bad recently. It ended up having a partially formed baby in it whose back was all fused together and twisted. So that left 15 good eggs.

The first four babies started coming out yesterday. So far, all the hets except for one have been proven with these little guys. Here they are:

Here's Mesquite, a bloodred tessera:

Hibiscus, a fire tessera:

Monsoon, an anery tessera:

Sequoia, another anery tessera with a more broken up pattern:

All of the other eggs have pipped, so I will update this thread as they emerge.

Congrats! Sounds like a great clutch! Sequoia caught my eye on iHerp but I think I like Monsoon even better.

oh my god they're so pretty! Its making me broody! T.T I want more snake babies, although my two are giving me a ton of trouble

Isn't it the truth, though! EVERYONE has such beautiful babies. There's one in every clutch that just seems so wonderful to me... Sigh.

Thank you guys!

I was determined not to keep any of the babies from this clutch, but gosh darn it, I might just have to pick one.

A lot of babies came out today! There are only three babies left in their eggs.

This is Agave, a granite tessera (I believe). Definitely diffused and I compared her to the other diffused tessera and she's very grey in comparison, so I'm thinking granite:

Creosote, a light colored male normal tessera:

Ruellia, a pretty little snow tessera:

Oleander, the only non-tessera so far, a snow. She did NOT want to be photographed.

Sahara, a normal tessera:

A few more in the next post.

Arroyo, a male normal tessera:

Saguaro, a male anery tessera. Super feisty! He kept flying out of his container trying to bite me.

Ocotillo, the absolute sweetest one out of the bunch. Not a great picture because he was bound and determined to leave his container, but he never once thought about biting me. He's a normal, possibly red factor, tessera. Looking forward to seeing how his colors are after his first shed.

How the heck are you going to decide which one(s) to keep?

I don't know! I was originally thinking I'd keep the bloodred tessera, but then that granite hatched, so now I feel like I need that one. I think bloodred is prettier than granite, but granite has more genes. It's going to be a tough call.

I'd go with the granite and the snow tesseras, best of both worlds with the genetic assortment. I'm hoping for snow tessera myself this season, tad late to that game.

Last three babies are out!

First is Cholla, a male tessera. I'm not sure what (if anything!) is going on with his coloring. His head looks a bit diffused or masque, he has no lateral diffusion, and he has split belly checkers. Both parents are het diffused, but as far as I'm aware, they don't have any masque.

Next is Lantana, a normal tessera:

And last but not least, Bougainvillea, another normal tessera:
