that snake looks severely dehydrated, and possibly even burned up by it's head? what store was this? do you have any way to contact anybody higher up?

I would have demanded someone soak the snake right then and there, or else I'd start whooping somebody. Get serious and talk to them, email them, call them, do whatever. Report them to the Better Business Bureau or animal control.

Ok that is so sad.I say you get in contact with http://www.aspca.org/fight-animal-cruelty/report-animal-cruelty.aspxand make sure they never own anything not even a stuffed animal as they wouldn't be able to take care of it!!!

i'm not sure if that's previous shed, that looks like absolutely SEVERE dehydration to me. if the rest of the snakes didn't look like that, they soon will. i wouldn't even speak to the manager of that particular store, if it is a chain i would speak to the CEO of the company, and tell them you have posted this here alerting people to the matter, and i can tell you, they WILL do something about it right quick.

I've never seen a snake look like that before, not even in the wild. I looks like it is starving and dehydrated!

Omg! That is awfull, even if they got it that way they should have been treating it instead of just putting it out for sale like a piece of meat at a butcher store. No wait, I take that back most butchers dont put out rotten meat for sale.

Even if they DID get it like that, there are some things that would make an immediate difference that they could do the instant that photo was taken. Soaking would make a drastic change in the snakes appearance, and since it is SO obviously dehydrated it should NOT be on the sale floor for any reason.

Perhaps, but it's not hard for pet stores to supply water. They feed weekly, and a bowl of water can sit there for a week easy. Thus, they probably got it like that. Either that or it's not eating.

But it NEVER should have been put on the sales floor, that animal should have been kept in the back and dealt with properly. AND they should have been calling the place/people they got the snakes from and reamed them a new one for letting one of there snakes get that bad let alone ship one out for sale!
