Yep, she was 10 years older than me, and if I was good I was allowed to watch her getting ready to go out and listen to her records. She had a brilliant collection of platform shoes, sandals and boots and to me was the epitome of sophistication, with her heated rollers and false eyelashes! I've got a very small part of her record collection held for when her girls are old enough to want them.
 
New wave/punk is usually used to describe the artistes. 18 consecutive top 40 singles in the UK charts. I was convinced I would marry the lead singer one day. One of my chap's friends met my hero in Amsterdam last year and sent me a photo of them together. I'm still considering photoshopping myself in there!
 
First band that crossed my mind by seeing this happy bunch was Cannibal Corpse
-but after checking I saw not one of these three happy campers :)
I'll just keep on pondering.
 
Just realised how quick my reply was to the last one...I guess it's easy when you know it....its one of my favourite albums!

Oh, sorry, missed your post alan. Yeah...like I say, I just knew it, probably would be more of a challenge for someone else but was a happy coincidence for me! I've been struggling a lot with some of these since I started looking in on the thread so was pleasantly surprised to open the thread up to that...
