Music quiz

I guess I feel old because I'm not into the music scene too much anymore. I stopped listening to the radio after the 80's and tuned into world music, new age, smooth jazz, J pop and down tempo. Couldn't tell you the names of half the artists I like, though, I just like the sound of the music.

Clue for the band:
Started as "Celtic metal/Melodic death metal"-band
and last album is more "Melodic death metal/Progressive metal/Folk metal"

(the genre of the album that needs to be guessed, Melodic death metal/Progressive metal)

I inherited a small collection from this artist from one of my brother's old girlfriends. They split up when she dated the leadsinger from haircut 100

Beastie boys Body movin'?

Definitely the Beastie Boys in the tin. The album is "Hello Nasty" and Body Movin' is one of the tracks.
Somehow you don't strike me as a fan, sometimes I like the way they make me feel stupid and juvenile. They also add some cool samples in their mix.

Alan, you wouldn't believe how varied my music taste is! Ranges from punk, new wave, reggae, various genres of dance/trance/harddcore, classical and so on. I've got friends who are into jazz, rock, soul, my boys are variously into dance and metal, (1 plays guitar, the other has decks but is learning guitar), their dad used to play with local bands, my chap has his own band, several of my friends play instruments, so I get exposed to music all the time. I'd actually never listened to any Floyd before I met Pete, it had passed me by completely.
I had the 'Hello Nasty' as a tape, but shame on me for giving the track instead of the album title! (I shall blame it on a senior moment).:dunce: I think that means I withdraw my selection and it's your go again.

Time for a clue? The bespectacled front man was involved in a famous soft drink commercial as a child.

Clue 3 - This artist starred in a "Reggae gangster" film with an all Jamaican cast. The soundtrack for this movie achieved a level of popularity - but the film itself never really did.
