My Butter Died

I bought a f/t pinkie at Petland on Tuesday. I fed this girl last night. Tonight when I went to check on her, she was dead.
This was my favorite corn.

You can still see the pinkie in her belly.

This was her just last week.

im sorry for the loss of this little one, im curious to how it died. Maybe the pinkie was born w/ wet tail? maybe it was too big of a meal? But in the last pic u posted his/her eyes dont look quite right.... :shrugs:

it could just be the picture, but im not sure how to explain, but he looks a little bit sickly, almost decrepid....how long ago did u get this little guy? there coulda been something the matter when you bought him from that petstore, i personally dont trust pet stores, a bit dirty for the likes of my animals!

To expand on SPJs comment. It looks like he has sleepy eyes. but i think that thats just the color of his eye.

It's a female. She came from a reputable breeder a little over 2 weeks ago.

No. I have had the snake for over 2 weeks so I thought the responsibility falls on me if something happens.

Wet tail is basically rodent dysentery. Usually it comes from stress or change of diet. I don't believe wet tail would effect the snake whom ate it.

No. I have had the snake for over 2 weeks so I thought the responsibility falls on me if something happens.

I would contact the breeder and inform them of what happened. Perhaps there is something wrong with their stocks and by telling them what happened to yours could help them figure out what's going on. At any rate, I as a breeder, would like to know about something like this and would probably try to ameliorate the situation to the best of my ability.

I would still try to make it right by my customer. 2 weeks is not that long and although I give a 48 hour health guarantee on the animals I sell, I would most likely replace the snake if I had one or give at least a partial refund...but that's just me. As a breeder I would want to know if something happened to an animal I sold anyway.

I just sent him an email letting him know that it died.

I got 5 other corns from a different breeder all at the same time that I got this one and they are doing fine. It's just this one that ended up dying on me.

This snake was so mellow and docile too. I really liked it. Never tried to fly out of your hand while being held like my others do.

That right there indicates that there was probably something wrong with it to begin with.
