i've seen def leppard a few times. in fact, they were my first concert ever. hysteria tour with europe opening. I've seen manson quite a few times. the first time was back in 94 he opened for danzig at some club that only held 1500.Korn was there too, they gave me a cassette single of clown and blind, because the cd wasn't even out yet. i've seen tons of bands.

I saw MM about the same time .... 94/95'ish.

They'd played about 30 minutes worth and someone chucked a plastic water bottle in the general direction of the stage .... didn't actually hit anyone. He stops singing and asks "Which one of you pussies is chucking stuff at us?". Some guy near the front thought he'd be clever and shouted that he was. MM says "Well, you finish the f***in' show then ...", throws the mic in the guys general direction and storms off stage in a huff. The rest of the band sat there for 5 minutes while everyone shouted MANSON and stamped their feet .... until they realised he wasn't coming back and they went off too. Gig over.

Can't say I was too impressed. It's a rock concert ... what does he expect everyone to do ... stand in orderly lines and applaud politely at the end of each song?

Shame really, as it was good gig up until that point.

(Even more annoying, I got to that gig late and missed the support band, Fluffy. All girl thrash band. I got there just as the bass player was being carried off having just barfed all over the stage. It was an entertaining slot from them by all accounts. Damn.)

When I saw The Rakes last week the lead singer got a couple of full pints chucked on him and umpteen stage invaders and just laughed it off and got the gig even more pumped up. :)

when i saw manson, people were throwing stuff the entire time. it was on ozzfest a few years ago. at the end of his set he told the crowd " you're all a bunch of pussies with really bad aim" , flipped the finger and that was it.

when i was 14 i saw guns n roses and axl walked off after rocket queen, then a riot happened. we left when things started getting crazy. that was at riverport in 1992 . some guy was taking axl's picture and axl must have told security 5 or 6 times to get the camera, so when security ignored him, axl jumped into the crowd to get the camera himself. then he got back on stage and said "thanks to your lame ass security i'm going home", spiked the mic and left the stage. it was crazy.

I remember seeing that concert somewhere, some camara man almost got his head taken of when a chair was thrown over the stage towards him! Axl and the rest of the band jumped in a limo and sped away to avoid arrest (so the press say), in all fareness though if your a big rockstar you should expect to have people taking pictures of you! :shrugs:

long shot but has anyone heard of los lonely boys? i love the guitar playing in it!
reason for asking is cos a mate of mine sent it from state side

They're one of the bigger bands to hit the charts last year in the States. Welcome to Texas music. ;)

LOL You guys, hubby's trying to convince me to go to Motley Crue next month, personally I'd rather see Alice . . . since I've seen Motley Crue . . . a looooong time ago . . . I dunno, we're short on funds and time these days so I doubt either will happen. :shrugs:

You have to go see Crue next month. I seen them earlier this year on their recent tour in Philly and they were absolutley AWESOME! I seen them years back in the late 80's and early 90's and they sound just like they did back then. It is a must see concert if you are fans of the Crue.

Well, I'm fan of a German medieval metal band called In Extremo.... Imagine pretty heavy rock/metal mixed in a perfect combo with bagpipes, flutes and medieval instruments I cannot even pronounce the name of properly... they dress in medieval clothing, have pyro and flames and now and then the lead singer does some fire breathing. Half the texts of the songs are in some old, dead language or in Latin and origine from centuries ago. Anyone interested too?

This is an absolutely true story, made even more ironic by the fact that Stevie Ray and I share the same birthday. In 1983 I went to a club called Big T's 19 in Clearwater to see SRV and Double Trouble. The opening act was The Road Ducks, and well they basically sucked. At the break between the 2 bands I went to the men's room. The guy at the urinal next to me says, "what did you think of that band", not looking up I responded with, "I thought they sucked, I came here to see Stevie". The dude says "don't be so hard on them, we all started somewhere" I look up and realize it's SRV. I was speechless, he just grinned and a few moments later he proceeded to "tear the house down"! What's my point? no idea! Just amazed that a young guy like you recognizes the talent of some of the greatest axe slingers in history and can appreciate Manson :grin01:

i'd like to think i have a band as good but i dont think us or our stage shows compete to the guys on my list :grin01:

you wanna see a great live band, go see TESLA. they tear it up every time. last time i saw them was last year with ZZ Top, The Doors (with Ian Astbury of The Cult on vocals), and Blue Oyster Cult. THAT was a great show!!!

i guess i'm kind of weird. i'll listen to Poison then turn around and listen to Disturbed. as long as it's rock n roll, it's all good. Linkin Park blows goats though. nothing more than a boy band with guitars.
