Congratulation!

Congrats Princess! It surelly is a great moment for any breeder: there first eggs! Hope it will be my turn soon! Good luck with them and keep us posted. :)

Thanks for the nice comments everyone! I guess they are big, I didn't really know what to expect though, so I just figured they were normal. It will be nice if the babies come out all robust and easy to start.

Mummy is a classic with a little bit of aztec-ing and is het for anery, amel and motley. Dad is an anery het for amel and motley and the motley his dad shows is the hurricane type, so it'd be nice if that get's filtered through.

I have a chance of a snow motley hatching out of this clutch and I really like anery motleys so I'll be really pleased to see some of those in 9 weeks too -and the stats say I should!

I just quietly removed the eggs and put them in the incubator this morning and wrote up the post, so I didn't see just how much slimmer she is after laying...WOW. A few days ago when she was sliding through my hands I couldn't detect any bumps at all and was wondering if I should put her back with the male but sure enough, there were so many eggs in there that there was no space to be felt between those eggs!

A clutch of 5 in her first year breeding and 11 in her 2nd I think is a good statistic! There's NOOO way I'll push her for a double clutch this year. She's a toughy, but I'm not going to risk her health.

I'd hoped she would eat when I offered a little mouse this morning but she wasn't interested, she drank a lot though. I'm going to offer her a small mouse again this evening. I'll be a lot happier if she eats before she goes blue. I don't think she cares but it'll make me feel a lot better seeing she hasn't eaten since the 19th of march.

So now the 9 week wait starts! Hey, if I was excited today, imagine what I'll be like when they pip!!!

Cheers,
Adèle

Cheers everyone!

I'm really happy now, she ate two weanling size / small adult mice with no hesitation. I'll leave her alone until after she sheds and then start pumping some mice into her hardcore so she'll be nice and chubby for next years efforts! I'm already a year ahead of myself!

Feeling really good right now :crazy02: !!!!

Congrats! The eggs look perfect and mom looks like she is in great shape to me!

Thanks Carol,
She was so solid looking before she dropped the eggs so she looks kinda skinny to me now but she's really alert and strong and has eaten 2 small mice, so I'm feeling good about her.

Those eggs are nice looking, thanks! I didn't realise how 'perfect' they looked until I looked at a few other threads...some eggs look pretty scarey!

Yay for eggs!!

Ooooooooooooo

Congrats, that is wonderful!!! I'm glad to hear mama is doing good too! I can't wait to see your babies . . . 9 weeks, huh?!? Well, I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

13 eggs after all!

I was looking at the photos I took on the day I transfered them to the incubator and I was sure I could see a 12th egg peeking around behind it's sibling....so I re-counted and found the 12th!!! -and the 13th!

So happy...more nice surprises each day!
