Small Time Breeder
I came home monday night. I was doing my usual check on my babies and one of the tubs was empty.. closed but empty. as I scatter through the aspen over and over I come to the realization that this isn't a dream and my 32g, 6 month old ghost corn is missing for real.. I don't even understand how she's gone cause she's in a rack system and the gap between tub and shelf is way smaller than her body.. i've been freaking out, looked all over my basement but to no avail. To add to the stress my basement has unfinished parts where there is water drains and holes in the cement where she could go into and never be found again..

I feel like the worst snake owner and the worst part is i'm not even sure what happened. trying to think if I left the tub open while doing something and she climbed out but can't see that happening.

Any suggestions? haven't had a reptile escaped in fifteen years..
Feeling like a newb over here...

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. First thing....just breathe, this might not be the end of the world. I had a baby escape and she was gone for nearly 6 months before she was found. Others here have similar stories. One person found a snake that had been gone over a year, OUTSIDE on her steps in Maryland! Just keep your eyes open....

another worry of mine is my cat... i've been keeping her in a small room but I can't help but picture the worst..

I had a cat when Keeper went on walkabout. Tara had dogs and cats......yes, you cat is a worry, but all hope is STILL not lost!

Sometimes, cats and dogs can actually help you locate the escapee. Some members have alerted them to where their scale baby was.

I have had one escape and it was so heartbreaking. I am sending you good jujus and hope that you find your little ghost!

This is my worst nightmare, sending lots of positive vibes that you find your little one very soon.

My cat actually led us to my son's little green rough snake. It was gone for three weeks; I figured he was toast. And all of the sudden Sparky (the cat) was hunting something, and led us right to the snake. put out water for him to drink. Good luck!

I've heard of people putting flour on the floor, especially in doorways, so you can see if he crosses.

Best of luck, I like the advice that was given.

It may be too late, but did you look at the lid? I don't know what it looks like and I don't have the containers you have, but my girl loves the top of the tank between the lip of the lid and the top of the tank. If your top is curved to click shut your baby might be in there. Just a thought.

You're not a bad snake owner! I've had two snakes escape and with no luck, unfortunately.

Try masking tape. Coil it along the bottom edge of every wall. You may trap the snake, hopefully.
Good luck
