This is one of my 2 new brooks king snakes.
Luckily, he was not like this for too long and I was able to get him untied.

Brooksi is a term rarely used nowdays...

I'll nab this from another forum:
http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/lampropeltis/60742-diff-between-brooks-florida-kings.html

"Back in the day, there used to be florida kings Lampropeltis getulus floridana, and Brook's Kings, L.g.brooksi, which were the nicer more yellow and smaller "version"of florida kings, they were called south floridas too. However, just a couple years ago, taxonomists realized that "brooksi" were the true florida king and that the "floridana" were intergrades of "brooksi" and eastern kings. So now, "brooksi" are L.g.floridana, and the old "floridana" are called peninsular integrades without an assigned taxonomic name.

Brooksi is no longer in usage, although a few herpers still call them brooks, just to differentiate from the "uglier" integrades."

And here you can see some of the existing morphs:

Thank you Kokopelli.

Somewhere I had seen the taxonomic change you reference. I am still seeing a fair number of people using Brooks and Florida king in the "old" now incorrect way.

Thank you for the links. I will study and book mark them for future reference.
Do you know, is Flame selectively bred for more red rather then a gene?

Very cute! I have a MASSIVE female white-side. She is a really cool snake. Very gentle. Insane feeding response.

Polygenic trait, AKA, assembled from an unknown numerous genes- selective bred.

Genes that would go well with what you got would probably be either Jelly/Peanut Butter( Peanut Butter is the Brook's Ultramel... it is recessive in itself, but co-dominant with T- Albino), or Hypo(preferably from a Flame line).
