It's Jager time!
Chondros... I have wanted one for god knows how long, but somehow I always end up going for something else.

The Scottish Exotic Animals Society had a talk on chondros this month by Bob Simpson. His animals were out of this world stunning, but another member brought along a couple of grown on guys/gals that we got to handle. They were the sweetest, most elegant snakes I have ever met. I'm in lurve....

Pity she was in shed, the blue was just fabulous

I think they are worth every penny, and I have promised myself to get one this year. *sigh* I also promised that I wanted no more new additions after Brutus, but already theres at least 3 more on the way LOL

Not nearly enough. I sold almost everything I aquired in my first year of keeping, and starting rebuilding my collection the last few months. I have corns, couple of boas and sweetpea. I think its 11 or 12 now. I did have 27 at one point, but I got rid of the crap and focused on the snakes I truley desired. Quality over quantity anyday!

Wow, those are some stunning picture Elle! Love the detail on the face(s). I'd love to have a chondro of my own - but we don't have the $$ or the room for a proper set up and we've got enough going on with the corns for now.

That, and if we actually got one, we'd need a Zoo Permit in order to take it with us when we move.

I know how you feel - I want one sooo badly! But being a poor college student I can't afford it... but its something to look forward too!

Saskatchewan, Canada - they do not allow any boids or other large imports into the Provence and they even prohibit the smaller boids such as ball pythons and Kenyans - something I just found out recently. The only way to legally own any of those species is to apply for a zoo permit. I don't know how strictly they monitor the permits, but I believe you have to provide operation hours or show intent to do a traveling zoo and educational shows. I don't know all the specifics , Tim's the one who's been doing the research on that.

We'll most likely apply for the permit and take the snakes to school and do shows at birthdays and the like. That way I can also get a another BP and a dwarf red tail and a few other smaller boids.

Jenn (Sorry for hi-jacking with my answer!)

Why in the heck would you move to a place that prohibits so many species!!???? You should come here and own whatever you want!

lol - We have family up there though! There have been times we considered staying in the states and moving to the Dakota's to be closer though. We want the girls to be closer to their grandparents. His mom and dad have only seen them two - maybe three times in the 8-9 years we've been married. Makes me sad really, when I think about it.

Plus, if we get the permit, we'll be one of the few people who have all the neat stuff in our collection and think how popular we'll be at the local schools when we do presentations! lol :crazy02:

My family is in Georgia, but I won't go there due to restrictions. Too much trouble!
