My snake Rose escaped!

Try the tin foil, without the spray in all dark closets and close to heat (TV's, Machines, Hot water heater...)

Also, anyone on here know how to make those bottle traps? She SHOULD be getting hungry and may go to one of those.

Also, make sure you have no rat/mouse poison in your house...

I laid out a good sized sheet of tin foil and put a good layer of flour over it so she could make a visible trail if she would happen to get on it. I can't really put it in front of the tv or closet because my mom shares my room and needs to be able to get up at 4am in the morning for work without stepping in flour...lol. But I did put it in front of the computer desk/slash bookshelf where her enclosure is. I hope that will work good enough for now. I will do it again this weekend when I have a mouse to use for bait. Thanks everyone for all the tips and suggestions.

Well, now its been 6 days since I noticed Rose being gone out of her enclosure. I still have not had any luck on finding her. I look for her every day in the same places and new places when I think of them. I did notice however that there are a couple of holes in the wall behind appliances in the kitchen. One behind the fridge and one behind the stove on the floor. Big enough for her to get through. :( I've put out another mouse for her last night without success. I've got a couple of bottle caps around the room so if she is still around she can get a sip of water. Unforunately, I don't think she is still in the house. I just have a really bad feeling or sense that she has gotten out to the outside and if she did there is probably no way of knowing if she would survive or get eaten by all the wild animals outside our trailer like Raccoons, Skunks, Birds, Ground Hogs, and Squirrels, and other threats like outside cats, and other snakes that we've had around that eat other snakes which I've witnessed earlier this year. I'm just really upset and sad that I lost her. :(

I found a corn outside sunning herself on my front sidewalk after a YEAR of being loose. And she was a snow corn. Corns are very resourseful. Don't give her up for dead quite yet. Just keep your eyes peeled. Watch for moved knickknacks and listen for odd sounds in the night. Watch your other pets if they ever seem interested...if you have any. And dont ever give up hope.

Does she eat pinkies? If so put a pinkie on a dish in the middle of two rooms, she'll wmell it and go for one of them, than you'll find her :).
Best o Luck

Don't give up. My first corn ever once got out for 6 months. I had written him off as dead after a few weeks. Then one night I was watching TV and he just came slithering through the living room.

As for the coke bottle trick. Get a bottle of coke (20oz if its a smaller snake, 2 liter if its bigger) and cut the top rounded part off that contains the screw top all the way until the fattest part. So you essentially cut out a funky shaped funnel. Then flip it around and tape it together so the top of the bottle points inwards. Throw in a piece of prey inside. The idea is that its relatively easy for her to get into, which she will to get the mouse. But because the entrance/exit is in the middle of the air it will be tricky to get out of for her. (I hope this makes sense).

Thanks for the pop bottle trick tip! I will try that in a couple of nights here. I'm running out mice for the week so I have to wait a couple of more nights so that my other corns don't go without food. I've already tried mice prey a couple of times during the night since she has been gone but just in my bedroom which is where her enclosure is. I don't feed her pinkies anymore -I feed her hoppers. I'm thinking and hoping that once my sister-her husband and three young kids move out this next weekend it will give me more places to search without bothering them and messing their things up. I also hope that they don't accidentally pack her in with their stuff when they move. Once it is just me and my mom here I will be able to search more thoroughly at night and during the day without having to worry about the kids getting into any of the traps I put out for the snake. I'm praying it won't be too late. Thanks for all the tips and tricks and encouraging stories. I appreciate it a lot.

The last time my snake got out, I put out soda bottle traps and tape along the walls and flour in the doorways. He evaded all of them because he was hiding in the sock drawer, so he jumped out of the drawer when I went to get a pair of socks. He never went very far from his tank, 10 feet at most.

Well, I've checked all my dresser drawers in the bedroom which is not even 10feet away from her/his enclosure but I've looked in there every single day that she has been gone with no luck in finding her/him. And all the clothes baskets in the bedroom and in the hallway where the washer and dryer is but no luck there either. Thanks for the tip though.

Don't give up hope! As I posted, my snake went missing for well over a month. I ahd searched every crevice mutliple times, and finally I just stopped looking.

Then I was watching TV one day, and I heard some rustling, and there he was, perched in a fake plant next to the TV :)

Well, with as many people that live here in this trailer with me I just don't think I am going to find her/him. I've gone around the trailer inside every night every day since she's been gone with a flashlight. In the kitchen, living room, and the kids bedroom and my own which is where her enclosure is at. I've checked behind all the appliances multiple times and behind the couches in the living room. We don't have any fake plants in the house and no ceramics or nick knacks around either. I've tried setting out a mouse for her/him twice and put out caps of water around the room. I've torn the room apart several times and just have had no luck. I've found several areas throughout the trailer unfortunately that has holes in the wall. Two of which are in the kitchen one behind the fridge and one on the floor behind the stove. Then another one in the living room by the front door that is covered up with a square piece of floor tile just screwed into the wall but easily taken out and moveable, easy access for the snake. And there is also another hole in the wall in my sister bedroom next to their bed. It will be a big miracle if she is still inside here somewhere.

Yeah, it just wouldn't be the same though. And I wouldn't be able to get one for a very long time, since I'm not employed right now and my mom is paying to care for the ones I do have still. I miss Rose so much. She/he was a gorgeous corn snake.

No, I haven't found Rose yet. And I don't know if Rose is a girl/or a boy. Never had the chance to find out when I still had Rose. I have however, ended up getting another corn snake while I had the chance too at the Midwest Reptile show in Indy this past Sunday with my ex-boyfriend. I wouldn't have gotten another one if it hadn't been for the fact that he offered to pay for me to get another one. And he also bought me a 100 f/t mice while we were there too which helped alot. I know it's only going to last 2-3 months but thats a big relief and is going to help quiet a bit. My new baby corn snake is a Silver Queen Ghost Corn- and I have named him Kasper. I also found out what my other corns are and I now have 2 females which are Diamond-my three yr old Anery and Zoe my 1 1/2 yr old Normal. My boys are the two youngest which are Bindi-my Amel corn and my newest baby Kasper. I am still looking to find Rose. And if I ever do find her/him I will still have a place for her/him to stay. I have a tub thats about the size of a 15 gallon tank and I have a heating pad I can use and I will just make some artificial made hides. Until then I am still praying that she/he is okay and doing find on its own. I miss Rose a lot. Once I do find her/him I can also go ahead if my sister wants the responsibility give Rose to them since they are moving out and Rose is the snake I orginally had bought for my niece Selena. I know my niece misses her snake a lot and would love to be able to have Rose back if I find her/him down the road. So if that happens I'd give Rose to them if they want her/him. Who, knows anything can still happen.
