i just got a cornsnake from the petshop 2 days ago, ive been researching the proper temps for the hot side and cold side. i live in arizona, and when i turned the light on for the snake and installed the new zilla thermometer, it got to be like 93 degrees in there in like ten minutes. now at night with no light it got down to maybe 75 and in the daytime with no light it is staying btwn 81.5 and 82. from what ive read that isnt a bad temp for the little guy, my conern is that there is no cold side to the tank thats the temp in the whole tank, on both digital thermometers, how can he regulate his body temp if there is only one temp in the tank. i went to the local pet store to ask them about this and they said its ok and to heat one side to 90, is that safe because i dont really trust what they say. and should i be using a uth or a bulb type heater, someone said to just use a lightbulb to bring up the one side a little. please help i hought i researched this enough but havnt read anything with someone having this problem... thanks everyone
