a bit freaky but nice!
Hey Folks,

I need your opinions what you mean about Brumate my Couple from the Sunbloos Prject think some of you know em!
I´m wonderin about if i Brumate them or feed them on or only lower the temp for a few weeks but keep em on in the viv.
Some facts to know it´s their first breedin season they are in good weight and were never brumated before.
What i want for em is that they get well and healthy into breedin season and produce a hopefully nice good clutch!

So what do you guys mean what would be the best.
I add a poll but if you got any advise feel free to post em!

Thanks a lot!!

IMO, either brumate them or keep them warm and continue to feed. The middle choice just doesn't sound like a good idea under any circumstances.

If we had a little more info on the pair(s), such as their actual age and current weight, I can give you my opinion as to whether you should brumate them or continue to feed.

The second choice can be okay, as long as the temps aren't TOO low, and you decrease the feeding frequency. For example, if you currently have the warm side at 85 and feed an adult mouse every week, dropping it to 75 would be okay if you gave a smaller meal (like a large fuzzy or hopper) once every two weeks should be fine.

@Susan what kinda infos do you need?
Will try get any info together you want.

And with lowering temp o mean just turnin out the
light and longer the terms od feedin of course!

They are 2 Years now never brumated before and around 250-300g haven´t weight em the last times! any other opinions??

I'd keep feeding them if they are 250-300g. I'd like to see them with as much weight on them as possible (without them being fat) as the egg laying can take a LOT out of them.

By 2 years old, are they 2007 hatchlings? If so, and they're not at the 300 gram mark yet, I would feed them through the winter and IF they gain enough size by spring, you can attempt to breed them. The male should be fine at this weight if you have another female for him, but this female should be a healthy, not fat, size above 300 grams at the least before breeding.
