New addition: Diffused phantom/Hypo pewter!

Tula_Montage

It's Jager time!
The girl arrived early last week. She is just stunning, I couldn't have asked for anything more. She was bought as an unknown sex, just because it was the last one available in the UK and I wanted one. When I found out it was a girl I was ecstatic, its exactly what I wanted and will fit into my breeding plans perfectly!

Un named as of yet, although shes a natural born killer. She strikes hard and fast, for a 28 gram 06 hatchling LOL.

Closest representation of her true colour, in other pictures you will see a sort of lavender wash to her.

Check out that head pattern!

PERFECT diffusion for such a young animal

Check out the yellow already, I really like it. I have never seen phantoms with a lot of yellow.

Some ventrum!

Yeah I think I have a new favourite snake in my collection!

Wow, Elle, she's extraordinarily beautiful! My only regret is that she ended up with you and not a real herper like me. :grin01: She does have outstanding diffusion for her size. She looks bigger than 28g, but I think that's because you are a fellow member of the "wee hands club". ;)

When identifying charcoals, I always look at the eyes. Usually they have very low contrast between pupil and iris. But I guess this may not be the case when hypo is thrown in the mix (I've mainly looked at charcoals and pewters). I guess most people are calling these "hypo-pewter", but I like "phantom-blood". It has a cooler, more sinister sound to it. :dgrin:

Thanks for the lovely comments, I totally agree Dean, I much prefer Diffused phantom or phantom blood. I guess she needs some sort of sinister medieval name :p I like Tilly :p!!

She has 5 tiny pinks in her tummy from Tuesday, pictures taken on Friday. She adores her food, and I will not deny her that pleasure :p

The wee hands club is excellent, makes our snakes look mahoosive!

Well actually, she deserves to be with the likes of me.

She's a beauty Elle, but you need to wipe the mustard off her neck after feedings.:grin01:

Oh dear, custody rights go to me you silly cookies... I coughed up the cash LOL. You guys can have visitation rights anytime though.

Thanks Danny, I didn't notice the yellow and pink cheeks until I went to edit the pictures. Then I looked again and shes covered in it! I can't wait to see how she progresses.

Phantoms are cool.. And well a Blood Phantom is just as nifty..

Elle, mentioned that her Phantom gets a lavender hue.. That hue is typical of the Phantoms. I just sit here and wonder why these were not called lavenders.. *lol*

Nice one Ms Elle..

Regards.. Tim of T and J

LOL I was pleasantly surprised about the lavender hue. I want a lav blood, But I got her instead. Oh well, I'll just pretend!

Thanks for the comments Tim, shes exactly what I wanted.

Get a male lav blood. They'd make pretty grandchildren for you! Nice acquisition!

Well I have a nice hypo lav male that I think will be her mate. 100% hypos het charcoal, lavender, blood? + I was talking to Rich Z who says that lavender is in his hypo pewter lines. Shes a serpenco so heres hoping.

Otherwise I may just buy a blood het hypo lav male. My goal with her offspring is to produce hypo lav bloods, but I wanted something beautiful to look at in the process :p Hets are always fun to work with too.

shes nice but theres something I dont like, I guess its the phantom diffused thing, I think phantoms look so great in there normal phase that diffused and losing all that pattern seems a waste but thats me.
apart from the diffusion just looks like any old phantom to me, like a phantom thats been dipped in paint remover :grin01:

Way to burst my bubble.

I wanted a patternless as possible silver/grey snake so I bought her. And I absolutly adore her. I should call her Mary Poppins - Practically perfect in every way.

Ghost bloodred or Anery bloodred not spring to mind?
Phantoms are far pinker in theyre background tones, I would never call a Phantom grey, far better than that.

Ignore the nay-sayers, Tula... she's gorgeous! As long as you lover her, and see her as a beauty, that's all that matters.

If I wanted a granite or a ghost blood, I would have bought one...

Technically she IS a ghost blood, just a different type of anery.

IMO a granite doesn't even compare to what I see in this snake. I don't want a dark snake with a lot of pattern, I want the lightest possible, lowest contrast possible, most patternless anery I can find, and a phantom diffused fits the bill!

You could name her Mallory, the girl's name in Natural Born Killers. Or the person who played her is Juliette Lewis- Juliette is also a pretty name. But I like Mallory.

Oh, and I think she's gorgeous! I don't even want to know what she cost.

Nanci

Thats quite a nice name Nanci thanks! Although I think I may hold out on naming her. I would like to get to know her first.

I was thinking of Griet, which means Pearl in dutch. Its also the name of the character Scarlett Johansson played in "Girl with a pearl earing", one of my fav films, based on one of my favourite artists, Johannes Vermeer.

Cost doesn't matter either Nanci, I figure you only live once and if its what you want, go for it.
