Monster Under Your Bed
My first clutch of corns for the year has hatched and shed. The parents were a deep red sunglow motley female and a super bright reverse okee male. I am a little confused by what popped out. Some of the babies looked like snows when they were born, except for spots of orange base color. Now that they have shed, I am even more confused since some babies are super bright and deep red, like I would expect, and some look like the red is extremely faded. On one I swear the base color is darker than the saddles. My girlfriend insists it looks like hypoerythrism in some species of milk snake, but I have never heard of such a thing in corns. Here's a few pics. Any ideas? Is this normal variation in amels? Is there cream in them (I have no reason to suspect either parent and see no markers)?
