New baby Tessera p/h amel :)

I got my very first corn today! This beautiful little boy comes from Don Soderberg at South Mountain Reptiles. His mother is an Extreme Okeetee and the father is Het Amel (not sure if it's a regular or Tessera Het amel, my knowledge on genetics is still limited). He's about 4 months old and is a little sketchy, but I think being crammed in a box and flown half way across the US has something to do with that. He did nip me when I first put him in his tank, but that was almost definitely from stress. I think I'm going to name him Pancho since he looks kind of like a mexican blanket.

Woohoo, look at all the fun aspen to play in! ;)
Beauty of a little corn. Glad you're allowing him to settle in for a bit before taking a bunch of photos.
I encourage you to check out the sticky on corn care on the home page, if you haven't already. It's got some great tips!

Beat of luck!

He sure does love cruising around his aspen :)
Yeah. I will admit that I did take about 10 photos in total. It's so hard to resist the urge to pick him up and play with him and take a thousand pictures, but I know that will only serve to stress him out more. I want happy healthy snakes :)

Thanks, I will definitely check it out. I've gone through a couple books already, but I'm always hunting for new/different information and methods of care. I put in about 2 months of research before I even thought about buying a corn, which made me want to breed them. Hopefully next year or by 2016 I'll be breeding this guy to some caramels and charcoals.

I have a care sheet down in my personal forum here, for extra reading, if you like!

If you look up pics here of Gartersnake- thats a good idea of what he should grow up to look like. I love Pancho's name!

I'd add a bunch of vines on the ground and suction cupped to the sides. Hatchling corns _love_ vines. They also love squished flat toilet paper tubes or paper towel tubes.
