Brand peeing contest aside, 100mm macro....GET THAT PUPPY CLOSE! 1:1 shots, though a PITA at times, are so much fun via the details you can bring out in various subjects.
 
My favorite is salamander 1. I love the amount of detail!

I think, although I don't have a macro lens, my next lens is going to be telephoto. I am tired of taking photos of birds that I can see just fine from the ground, and then they look like little black dots in the photos.
