New Carolina

We got a Carolina on Wednesday last week. Today we fed it its first pinkie with us and all OK but when will the corn be happy for us to handle it freely?

Probably wanna give the snake two or three days after it eats to digest, to prevent regurg.
The pro's on here all seem to say the same thing: when you get a new snake leave it alone for a week or so to give it a chance to calm down, also should leave them alone for 48-72 hours after eating.
Keep in mind even if you wait this long the snake may not be 'happy' to be handled, but it will be less upsetting. Of course it depends on the snake, but it may take some time for it to get used to being handled.

I even wait 72 hours with babies. I'm sure a baby has its tiny pink digested much faster than a big adult, because you frequently see them out cruising the very next day, but on the other hand, a regurge is just so much more devastating for a tiny snake that I don't want to risk it.

Thanks Nanci. Never kept a snake before so it's a big help that guys like you are out there to help us new owners give the corns a good life.
