This snake is classified as mildly venomous with the results of envenomation being, severe headache; nausea, dizziness; extreme pain surrounding the bite area accompanied by localised swelling. Treatment is basically strong pain killers and anti nausea tabs, it is generally considered that no anti-venom is needed. No known human deaths are recorded as a result of a Night Adder bite.
Food is mainly a diet of Frogs and females are live bearers and not egg layers.
By the way, this one was a pregnant female, so great care was taken not to overly stress her or harm her, she was released in a safe area in a natural wetland.
