Ciao

Just a bit of added info.

This snake is classified as mildly venomous with the results of envenomation being, severe headache; nausea, dizziness; extreme pain surrounding the bite area accompanied by localised swelling. Treatment is basically strong pain killers and anti nausea tabs, it is generally considered that no anti-venom is needed. No known human deaths are recorded as a result of a Night Adder bite.

Food is mainly a diet of Frogs and females are live bearers and not egg layers.

By the way, this one was a pregnant female, so great care was taken not to overly stress her or harm her, she was released in a safe area in a natural wetland.

I just read there are reports of gluttony.
That the snake sometimes eats til it can't swallow anymore food.
True? :shrugs:

I actually think that it looks like gluttony due to the fact that their natural prey item is frogs who tend to blow themselves up in the process of being captured and swallowed. This may make the swallowed item look bigger than it actually is.
Then again, I know from experience that especially here where I live frogs are not overly abundant, so they may well then practice gluttony in preparation for those lean times.

Just my opinion, I may be totally wrong.
