New rat babies!

Our female hairless rat gave birth to 9 little rat pinkies last night... :santa:

We dont use rats as feeders and we are going to sell the non-keepers as pets/breeders. The best part is shes a true hairless with a pedigree(show winning bred). Normally they dont make the best mommies and dont feed their young or eat them! :eek1:

Shes doing great though, 9 full bodied babies with full milk bands. They will all be a mix of dumbo/velveteen/berkshire/many colors and they will all be hairless carriers! Im so excited, I want a dumbo velveteen beige berkshire out of this group, that woud be great. ;)

I am so happy for you! I have rats as pets also, and just can't use them as feeders. To me, they are puppies, not snake food!

My 3 are rather boring, all standard eared hoodies. But very loved :)

Congrats with the ratties! I have a few mouse colonies and finally produced some long hair silver and tans and one chocolate and tan. Hooray for dreams coming true!

Heres a bad pic lol.

Yeah, she still is the most beautiful rat we have ever seen. We would show her, and Im sure she would take home some awards... but she has a inch long scar on her back because we resuced her from a bad hotel room where she lived with a lady bigger then her bed and had multiple cats. The lady also had her sister hairless named rose, but she somehow died there. After we resuced her we renamed her to Ratatoulie. She is the sweetest thing in the world. Heres a better pic:

Its looks like 7 will be beige/tan/white, and the other 2 will be black. Needless to say the 2 blacks (one boy, one girl) will be keepers. :)

Very exciting! I love the way hairless rats feel in your hands. They're like warm water bottles.
