Hello, My name is Dereck and i am from Ohio...

currently i own 2 corns (snow and an albino) and a BRB and Ball python. Also i have 2 dogs, a Yorkie and a Toy Powderpuff Chinese crested who is my baby. Also engaged to a very nice fiance who sort of supports my reptile addiction.

Work as a server at Red Lobster... going to school for nursing... i like tattoos, snakes, Ford Mustangs and Video games.

since no one prolly read that any where, heres the pics!!

:wavey:Welcome to the forum!!! Great pics... I love the mouse in the snake hide with the snake on the hunt!!! Some will likely comment on the live feed.... ignore them ... your snake, your choice ;)


My corns do EXACTLY the same thing... crawling up onto the ledge of the cage top....this fascinates me!!! Probably because I'm new to the site AND to snake keeping :)


Can you tell me what camera you use? You have some great pictures and I feel like I have to take 100 pics to get one clear shot.

As for the feeding live, i KNOW i will get crap for it, especially IN TANK!! but shes the worlds MOST gental ball python, i can literally pet her head.. .lol so i watch every feeding, and have tongs/gloves incase things go bad... so i am ready for them!! plus she wont eat any other, i have tried!.... as for the pic lol its my favorite pic, although i didnt notice it till a week after the pic that the rat was there lol..

now my corn is too fat to fit up there, she will try but falls:( one day she will learn...

camera is a Droid Incredible... cell phone... although some were took on a digital camera, but almost all were took on my cell phone :)

Some snakes just won't eat f/t, no matter what you do, so don't worry about taking any flak over it. I had a ball python who would only eat thawed mice if he was hanging off my arm :eek:. There are a lot of tips, tricks etc to try.

Hi Dereck! Welcome to the forums. :) We have a lot of members from Ohio (and I've been made an honorary Ohioan by one of them as I spend quite a bit of time there :laugh: ). Do you ever make it to the Cleveland reptile show? There is one on Sunday and I know a few of us will be there.

Did you name your BP after the mustang in Gone in 60 Seconds? It's a great name!

Just a friendly side note (and I'm sure one of the mods will remind you once they see it)...forum rules dictate that signatures not be longer than 4 lines. I believe there are a few stickies at the top of the Intro subforum explaining the few guidelines that the owner, Rich, has set for us.

We have a great group here, enjoy your stay! Looking forward to seeing more pics of your snakes, especially your snow and BRB, great looking animals!

And you have a Droid so i'm really jealous now...

you know, i live like an hour or so from it, and i never make it up, i always work on sundays!!! is there one the 28th? i have that sunday off lol... i will fix my sig, i wasnt sure about the rules. and i have over 600 pics so im sure ill have some to show off!!

good, i didnt want to get flamed lol... as for the droid.. get one as soon as you can. best phone i ever got, myfiance has a blackberry and she hates it now since i got a droid!

well thats good!! i take it you have tatts and a mustang? or just tatts? The BRB is my favorite. although she requires the most care and attention

Unfortunately i have neither a mustang or tattoos, i'm planning on getting my first tattoo as my graduation present to myself when i'm out of college, but that's a couple years away yet :( And a Mustang will definitely take longer to get than graduation lol

And it doesn't matter how many post it takes lol :)

My Bro-in-law has a blackberry storm and he hates it, i told him to get the droid but got the storm instead, people need to learn to listen to me when it comes to electronics lol. Blackberrys are made for basically e-mail and (no offense to anyone who has them and like them) it just seems like an expensive phone that's trying to do too many things and is too slow and can't do it... That was a bit off topic though lol

lol same with my fiancee, and i have 5 tattoos, but 1 of them i really hate and will be covering up with a snake/tribal tattoo. witch i will be getting hopfully in Dec. as for a mustang, i had one... a 2000 convertable, but had to sell because it was falling apart (190,000 miles) lol after school i plan on getting a new one:)
 
You won't get crud for feeding a BP live, I know they can be very difficult to get onto FK or FT if they are used to live. As long as you supervise every feed and do not leave it in there I have no issues. Your snakes are lovely!
