hi im new and ive been thinking about getting a corn snake.
i dont know much about corns but ive heard their great pets. please let me know if anyone has information.

Welcome! You are in the right place. Without any specific questions, your best bet is to use the search function to look for any info that you need (i.e housing, feeding, etc.).

I can tell you that they are great snakes. They are very docile and tame., usually never bite (pretty much always never bite, but there are always exceptions--babies will sometimes be nippers, but grow out of this phase quickly), and they are easy/inexpensive to care for. Hope this helps.

Hi and welcome. :wavey:

I have nothing to add but totally agree that browsing through the many many threads will answer most, if not all of your questions and even give you extra information you may not have known about. There are many corn savvy people here that have shared a wealth of knowledge.

The link above is excellent to get started.

Don't be a stranger and dive right in, corns are an addiction, so you have been warned. :grin01:

hey i was just wondering if i have to have dead mice and unthaw them i dont mind that much but im not sure my mom would like the idea of dead mice or rats in the freezer( she absoluty hates rodents)

Frozen/Thawed or Freshly/Killed are what you need to go with. Some local stores may provide F/T rodents for sale. Otherwise, you will have to stun/kill a mouse every feeding.

i figured it out shortly after posting but thanks still for telling me can i buy a live mouse kill it or stun then feed it

Well you might be able to ask someone named "newt" about snakes, maybe not corn snakes but anyother snakes. I work with him in Ottawa and I bought a corn from him a month ago. He has a forum like this one, but this forum is a little more informative. I think he has a post on here that has a link to his site. His real name is Andrew I think.

So let me get this straight. You work with him, you purchased something from him recently, you know he has a forum but you are unsure of his real name?

Hmm....

Ever heard the old saying "smells like a fox in the chicken coop"?

:shrugs:

I'm sorry, but :roflmao:

I have to agree with Quigs here. You work with him, but don't know his name? C'mon, we're not that dumb.

Not to mention your whole post seems a bit out of place on this entire thread. A new member here is asking beginner questions and all you can do is try to advertise yourself and your egomaniacal website?

Yep, I have. Only in this case I think he might qualify as a garlic-saturated bear. Something you truly can't miss.

Hey, but at least he changed his DOB this go around! He's learnin!

What is wrong with you people, on "newt's" forum he said people get attack here, he was right. I've only worked with him three times and I'm terrible with names. It's Andy or Andrew. I don't know what he goes by, that's all I meant. Do the proper check and see for your self that I'm not "newt". I signed up one day ago and already your judging me com-on now. My Full name Is Jeffery Charles the 2nd. My father is Micheal Charles the 1st. No middle name just that, I was born in Washington D.C. silverspring Marilyn.

Hmm, you were born in Maryland but can't even spell it correctly?

You are not being attacked. People here just doubt your sincerity and have an issue with people who have the rare bad taste to get themselves banned here and then insist on coming back under a new false identity.

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I do have doubts about you. As long as you stay under the radar, there will be no problems. But if you act like the person who was banned, and particularly make noises of trying to invite people here to that person's site, which was the original reason we had an issue with him, you will run your ship upon the rocks pretty soon.

fare enough, I will stay under the "radar" but, still I'm not the person you think I am. You said in another post you visited his site, but isn't that advertising aswel. Telling others he has a site? Why do you gossip about him behind his back?
Not trying to stir up trouble, but its rude to gossip about someone that can't defend themselves.

You seem very loyal to a guy with whom you've only worked a few times. But whoever you are, why don't you forget about your old coworker for now, and get back to discussing corn snakes. Preaching etiquette to this site's administrator is unlikely to endear you to this on-line community.
