Nine teens charged with bullying in teen's suicide

I except that analysis. My last 3 or 4 posts above we simply trying to defend myself against Chris's lies and Fantasy. Once the topic of suicide was forgotten all of my posts were trying to leave the conversation. It stings a little to come back to find Lori complaining about me disrupting the internet.

I let myself get sucked in by Chris and apology or not that is something I am ashamed of. It won't happen again. In fact, now that you too have pissed me off, I'll retract my apology.

Meh, it's not the first time I've pissed you off, and it probably won't be the last. I know you still love me, an vice-versa, so I'm not too worried. :poke:

I know I'm very touchy about suicide, both from experience in my personal life and from dealing with both attempted and successful suicides at work. I was quite ticked off when I wrote my post this morning, fresh in from working the nightshift. Sorry for ranting off, reading about that girl just got under my skin.

A few years ago, I was suicidal. Let me tell you firsthand, something pushes you to that point and once you're in it, it's tunnel-vision. All you think about, all you care about, all you do is plan your suicide, meticulously. You don't want to f--- it up, because then not only will you still be alive, you'll be crippled or disabled for life, you don't want to be caught (if it's not a cry for help, which is by means to be taken less seriously than a real attempt). For people in that state, it's not a matter of being weak or mentally unstable; it's a matter of being in pain and wanting it to end in the only way you can see possible. I tried three times to kill myself and no one even knew about it until the last time, and they wouldn't today if I hadn't admitted it and gotten help. You physically CANNOT break out of that state of mind without a serious amount of work and patience on the part of those around you, which I thankfully have so I can be here today, totally clear of those thoughts and even mostly winning my battle against depression. This girl died because she succeeded where I failed and failed where I succeeded; she didn't have a support web woven to break her fall, as I unknowingly had, and so she reached her goal. The children who pushed who to this point should be charged with everything they are being charged with, but I believe a more serious emphasis, for parents and teachers of depressed and hurt kids, on the role of the adults and friends in their life. If this girl had only had more people working to save her, she may still be here today.

In fact, now that you too have pissed me off, I'll retract my apology.

I thought I saw one of the 5 year olds pick up his pail and go stalking out of the sandbox earlier but I didn't know it was you. LOL

Because a young girl committed suicide?

No - because not only did she get hounded for her religious choices by other students but the teachers joined in on her as well - and wouldnt you know it, every single one of them got away with it - and the teachers still have their jobs...

I have alot of problems with organised religion - ironically however - the basis of all of them makes a lot of sense (hold some of the more extreme sharia law) but there are alot of people in positions of power that use their religious righteousness as a weapon against those weaker than themselves...

Strange isnt it - that people believe in things like the fall of jericho - which is a fact and actually happened - and you cant believe in facts since facts require no belief (im glad I am a functional atheist, makes life sooo much easier)

Kind of odd how things change over time. You dislike, for religious reasons, the idea of living in the USA (a country founded on religious freedom) but yet live in a country that could probably be considered the founder of state sanctioned religious persecution. Obviously neither country is what they were 230 some odd years ago. Just an interesting view point.

Oh please! EVERY country has reasons why you wouldn't want to live there. AND reasons why you would.
I like my country, and I would never want to live in another one. That doesn't mean it's perfect. (maybe for the best...it's a little small for everybody to want to live in :D)

I donno, I can't think of any reasons why I would want to live in Somalia....

He's busy spending all our beer money. I was thinking more along the lines of Oprah!
She's busy saving all our beer money!. I was thinking more along the lines of Norm from Cheers... wait, he has an even more outstanding beer tab than Obama, lol.

i had a feeling you are arguing back so fiercely because you are indeed a bully! if you do something, and don't know WHY you're doing it, that's when you need serious, professional help. THERAPY!

I called him out on that one, in a longer post. BrandNew has since sent me an apology PM, I accepted his apology. And think that we are supposed to lay off him in this thread, per Nanci, on page 8, post #75. I don't want anyone to get scolded regarding this! :)
