Ohioans....

I see where your going with this.
I have cages that I've seen at the edge of a road, washed out and perfectly fine.
I'm stating that the money I have is allowance, and I barely get any of it because my parents are laid off.
I can handle the snake I have now.
I catch minnows and other fish at a local pond and at the stream in my backyard.

Wow...you just actually made me feel worse!

Used cages could have any animals with Crypt..which bleach/soap won't kill. They also don't have heaters and probably don't have tight lids.

Again...if your parents are broke and you barely get allowance. You DONT NEED new PETS that cost yet more money to feed.

Really? How can you handle it noww exactly?

MINNOWS!!!???!!! Cornsnakes eat mice. Boas eat rats. Sure your little baby watersnake will eat those now..but how about when it's six feet long? Wild caught animals have parasites and other problems. And what praytell do you plan to do in winter when your wild caught minnows can no longer be found.

Grow up kid. At like the responsible adult you need to be to be a responsible animal keeper.

No one is going to appauld or approve of your half-arsed methods of taking care of animals here. We are a group of responsible keepers who love and care for our pets.

Kids who act like you are currently acting make me :puke02: . I am sorry...but please do mother nature a service and stop trying to add to your familys burdens at this time.

Just be careful with taking in wild caught. Lots of parasites, etc. to worry about!

EXACTLY

If you don't have the money to drive to a show. And you don't even have 5 bucks to get a snake. Then you don't need a snake at this time. How will you afford to keep it alive and healthy?

Food ...for a corn ...for a boa

A undertank heater, tank, substrate, waterbowl, hides, lid, thermostate, tempgun/tempgauge and whatnot will run well over 50 bucks.

vet to check

lifetime commitment.

It's not a race. You can have all the snakes you can safely afford when you are an adult in your own household, paying your own bills.

Tara is just offering you some good advise!

Maybe I missed it but what type of snake do you have? What are your plans for feeding this winter?

It would be a WC Watersnake!

well you said before you had it vet checked and it had nothing. well you know your feeding it wild minnows, and even store bought feeder fish are chock a block full of nasty junk as from what ive been told. so you will probably have to deworm a fish eating snake more often. and i have on more than 5 occasions seen adult water snakes eating very big frogs. he will not live on minnows forever. and the food is going to be harder to come by. i dont mind people keeping w/c animals, but bringing a w/c animal to captivity should mean keeping it a captive animal and not feeding it wild prey.

PLEASE!!!! Do yourself and any animal you may find a favor and catch, take a pic and release it. It's obvious at the moment neither your parents or you can afford another mouth to feed. Just really try to hold off on getting another snake until your able to care for it properly.
