If you want the snake at the petstore - I would also make sure it is a bloodred before paying that kind of money for it.
Don't get me wrong - I love that shop as well - but I have seen them have snakes mislabeled in there before and charging prices for a morph that it actually wasn't.
You said you have held it - have you looked at the belly? Is it clear with no checkers? Some normals get a deep red coloration and they might consider it a bloodred if that is what the seller told them it was - but if it has belly checkers - it is not a bloodred.
 
It may be a beautiful normal - but if that is the case - it is definately not worth spending $150 for it. Bloodreds have no checkers, although the red sometimes "bleeds" through on the belly making it red/white - that is how my adult bloodred looks. Nanci has her now - maybe I can get her to take a belly pic to show you.
 
Went to the shop AGAIN today with a friend to help me take some Pictures :) She held another corn and it wasn't nearly as cool as this one LOL She liked the red one the best :)

Like I said, he is beautiful. I'd have a hard time not getting him even though he's not a bloodred.
 
A bloodred will actually look very similar to that guy. Biggest difference will be bloodreds have no checks on the belly, saddle out lines might be harder to see as well as side pattern should almost be none. Good luck!
 
Bloodreds can vary somewhat in their appearance as well. They normally do have the overall red coloration, but what you are looking for is diffusion (the "bleeding" of the color) on the sides and a clear belly:

Another question..What would he be worth? What would you pay for him? is there any way I would be able to prove it to the owner to see if they would drop it to the right price?! LOL

He is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for him. He may carry some good genes, but most of the time, you cannot tell that from looking at a normal. There is some speculation that a clear space/line between the belly checkers on a normal could indicate a bloodred het, but it is not a guarantee. I do not have a good pic to illustrate - but maybe someone here does and could share?

The best way to prove it to the store owners that he is not a bloodred is to point out the belly checkers. No bloodred or bloodred morph (granite, pewter etc) has belly checkers. FYI - Same with motleys and stripes - they have no belly checkers either.
 
hmmm wow.. Well, if I don't find somthing at the show this weekend *I am gonna try to go tomorrow* I will print some info and see if they would drop it. I was just seeing your opinion on it.. like what do you think would be too high? Lol I am not good with this stuff..and don't wanna be Jipped..
