okeetee butter?

pgr8dnlvr

An obsolete oldie...
I got this girl in from Rich Hume. After much personal strife and debate I've decided I just can't sell her. She's much too cool! I swear she has the features of an okeetee but being a butter, I guess it would be reverse okeetee?

I've just e mailed Rich to see if he reproduces these with regularity. If so I think next year I'll get a few more, if not, I've GOT to try to reproduce this!!

Have any of you got pictures of adults that this one might grow up to look like?

I am going to name her Reva.

I know Bayou Reptiles sells "Okeetee" Butters. I am quite fond of them, I was actually thinking of picking up a pair.

That is sweet. You might want to pick up a true reverse Okeetee het caramel as well and aim for those super wide borders. Maybe throw in an Abbott's Okeetee for good measure to develop those borders.

Nice project! I think a really yellow butter with wide white borders would look really nice. I also think caramel "Okeetees" would look good too! And the next step would be for a butter candycane!

Thanks SO much for the inspiration to try guys! This comment particularly made me think.. I was already hoping to get some abbots from SMR next spring/summer, I wonder if I should ask if he happens to have any het for caramel.... It would make a great trio if I could end up finding a reverse okeetee with the het too.. In my dreams but hey stranger things have happened!!

Thanks,
Rebecca

It's been well-documented here that I'm not a huge fan of corns with a lot of yellow.

But holy moly, that's a beautiful animal.

Something like this?

This was my absolute favorite little girl. Unfortunately she died unexpectedly soon after arrival. I haven't been able to find another like her.

Wow, what a striking butter hatchling,,, very pretty.. I'd love to see what she looks like later on when shes older... Keep us updated on her looks ;)

To SPJ I'm sorry about your loss, she was a cute little thing :(

That just gave me an idea for my Miami female in another year. I may breed her to my butter and try to reduce the background colour. Butter candycanes, Okeetee butter and caramels.....yummmm...
