OMG SHEEDING NOW!!!

luvmycorn

My corn is my god
MY SNAKE IS RUBBING HER FACE AGAINST EVERYTHING!!! SHE HAS BEEN IN THE CLEAR EYE STAGE FOR 3 DAYS AND SNEEZING EVERYWHERE!!! IS THIS A RI OR IS SHE SHEDDING HER SKIN??????? WOOORRIIIEDDD

I'd say shedding, although sneezing is not usually a good thing. What substrate are you keeping her on? What temperature range are you providing for her?

I agree with Nanci...just let Juliette (yes?) do her shedding-thang. :) She's rubbing her nose to get the shed started, that's all...as soon as she gets the nose part rubbed open, then she'll do her best to slide out of her old "skin" (like taking off a sock, inside out).

All of my snakes -- except one -- do all of the work on their own, beautifully...for the one with problems (my adult, Caramelo, with the flaky scales issue), I'd let him get the work started, and then after 24 hours, I'd run him through a damp towel, and that would help take care of the rest. It took him about a year's worth of sheds to get to the point of now being able to do it all on his own...:) Only on one or two occasions with him did I need to intervene with helping remove "skin"...otherwise, hands off. Just relax...:)

I can't say that I've ever seen my snakes sneezing, though, when preparing to shed. Perhaps, as mentioned prior, it has something to do with the substrate...I don't know. Is your snake on aspen/paper towels?

my snake shed in about 8 min and ate in about 10 min. she is a fast one!! i just got a camera and in a week think i can post some pix. merry x mas again!!

Don't forget it also had a missing scale or scales sticking up or something. Poor snake, it has been through a lot hasn't it?
This constant drama is why people are starting to doubt you really have a snake. If you do have one, please learn how to use the search function, all the questions you have asked have great answers already available at the click of a mouse. I know you didn't know how to start your own thread when you first joined, so just to help you out, if you click on the top of the page where it says 'search' and type a couple of key words you will find all the information you need. (It helps if you spell the words right.)

humm..... i wonder why i have a camera now..... JUST CHRISTMAS!!!! i am always worried about my snake, so I have to keep posting things to make sure that she will be ok. i dont think you are too nice either susang.

Can't rep Nanci, good question.
:-offtopic How was your day at work Nanci, I always had mixed feelings about working Christmas. When I worked in ER, either nothing happened or it was a mad house and someone was having a bad holiday. susang

Well, it was kind of a madhouse with a few people not having a good holiday- starting out with someone stabbed (didn't his wife like the Christmas knives??) and a teen in a bad car wreck that said the F word in front of her mother who took away her cell phone and LEFT. I didn't have anything better to do, so I took the place of someone with less seniority so they could spend the day with their family.

Hopefully, now that this snake has shed, life in general can calm down!

she looks fine now. there was two layers, the shed layer and some skin...... she shed her skin and it was all cool. it was sooo cool because it was my first time watching a snake shed!!!!!!!!! :)) I AM SO PROUD OF HER!!!!!!!!!!! she took her time with the shed though. i think she did it to bug me. ;)lol.
