If you actually speak to Apple techs about running Windows on a Mac they'll discourage you because of viruses running rampant for Windows. If you get a virus on your Mac from running Windows then you'd really be SOL.

To run Windows on your Mac you'd have to buy Windows anyway and IMO, the whole point of having a Mac is the superior (IMO) operating system. Seems kind of silly to risk your Mac over a few programs when you can just buy a cheap-o PC to run those software/games/whatever.

I would suggest taking a look at iHerp for digital tracking if you're on a Mac. I've been testing it out with my BPs and am pretty happy so far. The programmer also seems to be constantly improving it...So anyone that is dedicated enough to spend that amount of time listening and improving their product deserves my attention. :)

I do run windows on my mac, but it doesn't go online for that side.. I have to use it for some programs we use at work..
OFF TOPIC: Is it still at risk for viruses if I don't use it (PC side) for the web or emails? I guess I could just buy a cheap Dell or something and keep the mac at home.

I used to have a mac but had to downgrade to a wintel box for compatibility in a project. :(

Writing a genetics calculator isn't particularly difficult. It's just a series of nested loops. Way back when I wrote one in Basic on the Commodore 64. The interface is the hard part.

You would not be at any risk running Windows on your Mac if you are 100% offline (unhooked). You don't have to have a browser or e-mail open to be hacked and infected (scary, huh?).

the calculator from kornnatterlexikon.de is moving to www.ecsba.eu !! That's the only reason why it doesn't work. I cannot say when it will be ready but I can say that it will be done. The person who makes it is a bit busy at the moment - so don't panic :)

Great news for us mac people!! Is he going to put in the newer genes? I always just use Charcoal for Cinder or any such substitution, but would be cool to have it all..

Thanks for the news!

The one they're talking about is an online version, not downloadable software (which is what I've been whining about).

when i had a regular computer i LOVED Micks calculator... i think thats what its called... i agree someone should make a download version for macs. Except 100% better than the PC versions... so we can be better than them for once... :)

GoDaddy and are are having a little argument over the domain. I didn't receive expiration notices like I do my other domains through them and now they want to charge me $98 to renew it. Yeah...Not too happy with GoDaddy right now...

I'm not sure but I think when it was compatible with mac before it should be also with the new server? I think we have to see what time will tell ;)

Yeah sorry guys, we still have some problems with a server move and getting in touch with the guy who can fix the things on the provider side.
