Paper on Corn Snake Care

I hate how all these harmless animals are illegal. It's a ferret, not a T-rex. The government just makes too many unimformed decisions. I wish they would just lift the bans and let us face the consequences of whatever kinds of animals we want to keep. :headbang: Oh well.

Again, best of luck with your parents.

I added a section about obtaining a corn snake! :) Any and all feedback is appreciated! :) I'll probably give this to my parents tomorrow after I'm sure there are no mistakes in the new section. :)

Read your paper. Great job. You also gave me a wonderful idea! I am the type that if my child ever asks me if they can have a pet I will say YES of course! My bf is not a pet person. Sooo... If my child ever asks me they will have to write a paper just like you did! This way they understand the cost and time a pet really entails.

Yeah I just did today. :p No answer still. I'll question them further tomorrow. >_> Although I'm not sure where the printed copy went. Hopefully that means my mom took it and is reading and thinking about it. :p

YES! :D I'm going to Reptile Island tomorrow to get a viv and stuff, and hopefully a snake too! :D :D :D My mom went their today without telling me and saw all the hatchlings and couldn't resist their adorableness. :D She said they were so cute and tiny! :D And they have a Miami too! :D But I have to him out to make sure I like him first. If I don't get a snake tomorrow we'll keep checking and see if they get one in I want. :p I want to be totally sure the one I get is the one I REALLY want, because I can't get any more. My mom was VERY clear on that. ;) I'm hoping for a nice, male Miami. :) I don't want to deal with getting eggbound with slugs, because I can't really afford expensive vet bills. :/ Because my mom threatened to get rid of it if he gets sick with something expensive.

Ok I'll stop going on now, I'm just too excited!! :D

Awesome! You'll have to keep us updated! We'll definitely need pictures when you get one!

Congratulations!!

And get the viv first, and get it set up and running, so the UTH and thermostat and everything are all right.

And no matter what they tell you at the store, don't take home a snake that was fed that day, or the day before, and when you get him home give him a week to settle in before feeding!

Congrats! I'm so happy for you. Only thing, I wish you could get one from one of the sellers here. That way you'd know the breeder, good chance of it being sexed correctly and knowing the pedigree. Still, you can't pass up the chance.

Thank your parents from all of us!

Thanks! My mom really only wants to go to the store once, but I think whatever the snake comes in for transport will work while we set up the viv. It doesn't seem like it'll take that long to do. :p If they just fed one I want, I'll buy him but pick him up later in the week maybe. :p

Yeah me too, but I really hate the cost of shipping. And I can't go to the show either, my mom doesn't see the point in spending money just to go, and THEN have to pay for the stuff too. :/ Plus this place has a pretty good deal, it's like a combo pack with everything you'll need for 150 bucks (I shopped around and made sure that was still a good deal, it is), plus it gives you 20% off the snake. :)

And I thanked my mom from everyone too. ;) Still can't believe she said yes, and only after a few weeks. I was expecting to have to put "Permission to buy a cornsnake" on my Christmas list. XD

Congrats!!! I looked around for a few months to see the coloration that I wanted. Then it took me some time to figure out where I wanted to get her from. You're doing a smart thing by taking a look around. Glad you're parents are being supportive!! I was never allowed to have anything but a dog, fish, or bird.

It didn't take me long to get my heart set on a Miami. :D They're so beautiful, I just love the contrast. :D My mom picked Reptile Island, she went today with out even telling me. :pShe checked out another store but they didn't know what they were talking about. they said they only need a 20 gallon becuase they only get up to 2 feet long. o_O
