Plain old Orchid? Or something more?

Hi all,

This is a two-year old orchid produced by Steve Roylance. When I got him from Steve he said he is an orchid with ph amel. However, I swear I've never seen an orchid as light as him. Any thoughts on the matter? Have any of you seen orchids this light without the hypo gene involved? Do you think it could be a hypo orchid? Any and all opinions are welcome. Thank you! Oh yeah, the colors are dead-on accurate.

I also thought I'd snap a few shots off of three other animals I didn't cool down this winter.

Once again, thanks for any input you might have on my orchid. What is he?!

Mitch, still not 100% sure, but I love those dark eyes!

SWEEET !!
Mitch, I had a Hypo Orchid that came from Rich Z. when he was still active in breeding and here is what it looked like.
Of course a little testing will confirm if it is Hypo. Also could just be a varience that is tagged to the SK trait.

I tell ya, I'm not saying that this is what it is, but is LOOKS like what I would think a Lavender Cinder would look like.
Nice snake man.

Walter

I agree with Walter, I would IMAGINE a a cinder lavender would look like that, but one would think that would be known about, especially by someone like Steve...btw Steve I wouldn't be upset if one like that found it's way into my stuff ;) Kidding, I know he probably looked much different as a baby but whatever it is he is GORGEOUS!! And the rest certainly aren't too shabby either :)

He was a little lighter as a baby, but he's stayed pretty much the same as he's aged. Thank you!!!

Gorgeous animals! And you take really beautiful pictures. Study photography?

Thank you. Nope, I've never studied photography. Just a lot of trial and error.

that is a nice snake with a funky pattern too it, but I mean Sunkissed makes all kinds of funky patterns so I would blame to pattern on that however yours is extra light. What does the belly look like? I disagree with the lavender and cinder part I don't see how that combination could equal a bright snake.

I thought Cinder as well when I looked at the lower 2/3rds of the body.

Instantly brought to mind the pics of Sunkissed Cinders I have seen.

There seems to be something seen often in Sunkisseds where some turn out quite light and have a lot of yellow, and others stay more red. It might be "yellow factor" or something else that tends to be more noticeable in Sunkisseds. As an example, here are 2 Sunkisseds, both purchased from Rich Z as having no other genes involved (although the lighter one proved to be het hypo). I can't say anything about the other one as she was never bred.

Your gorgeous orchid looks to have that increased yellow hue and lightness, but as is often said, only breeding trials will tell you for sure if hypo is present in het or homo form.
