I agree, that's the only type of amels I like. The deep and fully saturated colors do it for me. Somewhere between that sunglow and my amel, I think there's something even cooler to be found. :)

So if I can get rid of the white on mine (hopefully with the bloodred she's carrying) I think I can get some really nice amels, too. (Almost sounds like a contradiction of terms, "nice amel" LOL)

Now if I can find a gene that gets rid of those pink eyes, I'm all set. ;)

(I must be an "amel snob." hehe!)

My favorites are the deep colors too. My daughter would be real dissapointed if you got rid of the pink eyes, that is what she likes best about my Blizzard:D

And, of course, her gentleman friend, "Pumpkin:"

My Amel

This is my Amel, Yoda again.
I took her to the shop where I bought her, yesterday, to have her probed. She proved to be female which I had suspected all along.
While I was talking to the guy at the store I found out something interesting. She has Okeetee blood in her. I kind of suspected but never was sure until this was information was offered up.
This makes my plans for her even better.
I have a male Okeetee and was planning on breeding them together to begin work towards albino Okeetees. This should help.

This is my

favorite male amel, Sunny Delight:)

It's a shame I don't really know what he is, though.

So I bred some Butter Motleys together last year and THESE things popped out:

Quad homozygous?

Rich

Those are absolutely beautiful. Congratulations!!
I expect you held those back to see if you could produce more like them. I hope you do, I wouldn't mind one like that.

Wow Rich!

The real fun of breeding is making the unknown known.

Another amel. Love these white borders.........
