Please Think Twice-Egg Binding

For all that want the adventure of breeding your favorite corns, incubating and raising hatchlings, please think twice. It can all go terribly wrong as with my Striped Fire girl. I don't want to loose her but fear I will, she laid one egg and wouldn't lay anymore. I am very lucky to have a friend that is a retired zoo vet and he came over and we got three more eggs out. Then what we feared the most a fold in the lining was blocking the rest of the eggs. We have pushed the rest of the eggs back up hoping that when she sheds that the fold will straighten out and she will expel the rest of the eggs.

I'm sorry to hear that she didn't make it :( You may have already mentioned it somewhere in this thread, but how old was she and how much did she weigh before breeding?

Man that really sucks. I'm so sorry you lost this girl she was so beautiful. I hope that egg will hatch out something special for you. :(

Wow. I am so sorry for your loss.
That is one beautiful girl. It is so tragic that she wasn't able to make it through laying.

Hugs.

I'm sorry for your loss. She was a real beauty.

Did you ask the vet before-hand to remove and save the eggs no matter the outcome of the surgery? I would at least give them a chance at incubation as they were ready to be laid and the only thing I could possibly see being wrong with them is that some anesthetic may have crossed the shell barrier. Just a thought for the future.
