Portia (Freshly Shed)

She's an '06 African house snake from Trevor Yehle (lefty_mussolini). As adults, I guess they're pretty darned rainbowy. I can't wait, because she's fairly iridescent already. She's like a rat snake x python x brb cross. Can't bitch about that... :grin01:

Easier said than done on the former, but I'm living proof it can be done.

Besides:
  • I have a selfish interest. Nobody else here would understand any of my pre-Paul McCartney references.
  • This forum needs the kingsnake-lovin', live-feedin', contrarian point of view.
  • You can just give in - on the latter. Those AHSs are smokin' enough for any one household.
Oh, and Dean: :cool::cool:

regards,
jazz

Hah! Yeah, I've gotta give up the death-sticks too. But it's too late on the house snake thing. I have to find some albinos! (They kick a$$. Look for Trevor's old thread.)

I still can't get over those eyes... so awesome  I'm still on the fence on these and can count on one hand how many I actually liked the looks of. Yours are the Cinnamon phase? I've only seen pictures of these and will have to see them in person to make a decision, but so far they look cool too. The Browns are so-so, the Albinos are freaky, but the Reds are my favorites so far :grin01: Are they still as flighty as they were as hatchlings? Do they out grow that with a lot of handling?

Death sticks... no no no  "I get up my appartment stairs in double the time sticks" - Which is perfectly fine by me cause im a very laid back person... Except for when I have 3 mins to catch a bus and have to decided on 5 min "slow stick" or get-to-work-on-time. Never the later :grin01: :grin01:

Very pretty! She makes me hungry for cocoa.

I quite smoking about 15 years ago. I was _very_ addicted, like two plus packs a day- lighting one off the old one. I was doing a lot of CAT scan lung biopsies at the time, and I'd be right there when the pathologist told the patient, yes, it's cancer. I thought, I bet, at that moment, that person would give anything to have never smoked. Suddenly, it just didn't appeal to me. I think to be successful you just have to be more afraid of dying than how much you love smoking. AND the key to staying quit is never, ever, ever!!!!! give in and have just one more. Your brain wants nicotine more than anything, and will do anything to trick you into it. Dad died? You deserve a cigarette! House burned down? You for sure deserve a cigarette! Geez, after 15 years, whenever I see someone light up on TV- my lungs can virtually feel it- my brain is going- oh, man, that looks good! And it totally disgusts me now! _SO_ addictive. Good luck, anyone trying to quit. if I can do it, anyone can.

I have an idea: Anyone that quits smoking deserves an AHS!!

Jazz, you're not the only kingsnake lover in the world!!

My male is definitely red phase. The female is questionable, but I like her look, whatever it is (I'm no expert on these). They are not nearly as flighty as they were on delivery. In fact, I'd say that even at their size, they handle BETTER than most of my corn hatchlings. My pair eat like champs. I can't think of a reason NOT to recommend them... :)

The pair you got were from Red Phase parents. Some of the babies turned out a bit too brown, but I have a feeling that they will get some of the red going on. Usually, the reddish browns are considered cinnamon phase.

The Namibians (L. f. mentalis) are a great looking, but they hatch VERY small. Usually too small to feed pinks to. At first I considered getting some, but was talked out of it by some people that have bred them in the past.

Oh... and still smoking and keeping MANY House Snakes over here :)
