Hector, I love those Pieds. I probably would have died if I saw those hatching in person. ;)

The Bloodreds are an excellent cultivar to visualize the Pied expression.

We produced animals in 2009 which to the eye were & remain obvious Pied-Sided.

However, obtaining a photograph to post for y'all has proven rather a difficult task.

Here is one of the kids as a neonate:

The clutch is from an Anerythristic Pewter 'white-sided' male x Ghost Bloodred female.

Now the obvious conclusion is that they are Granite, however, they may very well be Anerythristic Pewter.

Here is an up date of this male, now 10 months of age:

Their Sire: Anerythristic Pewter 'white sided' male has been placed with the following females for the 2010 Breeding Season:

Pewter / Anerythristic Pewter
Bloodred hetero Anery, Lavender poss het. Hypo, Charcoal

And their GrandSire: Anery Pewter 'Orion' to:

Hi Layla,

Thanks for your kind compliments on the chaps.

There are a number of Pairings this 2010 Season which may provide further details on this highly desirable trait.

Who knows.........probably see Pied-Sided kids with this stunning expresion again :grin01:

Regards. Lex

Nice snake Lex, but would this be classed as high defused rather than pied, the white just doesn't seem as clean.

Nope, not classed as high Diffused.

Granted we do produce some amazing animals with high Diffusion, however, the 3 males of which I speak are, indeed, Pied-Sided.

The lateral white scales are present &, if you look closely at the posted photograph, you will see the scattered pattern which conforms to the Pied-Sided trait.

As these animals mature a natural colouration is developing on the Diffused lateral scales, as one would expect.

The white scales remain pure white.

Regards. Lex

Yay! Joe, I'm always mesmerized by your pictures! It's probably a good thing that link to your forum is dead, otherwise my whole day would be shot.

Great examples, always top 'o the line.

I was just looking and I am amazed at all these pieds! So I was wondering. Does anyone have any new ones to show. All this talk about the 2010 breedings. I want to see the outcomes. :)
