I knew the server move went too smoothly.....

My SerpenCo.com site has gone flaky on me. First got notice when a customer was trying to place and order, and kept getting a message like this:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /shop/customer/product.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Seems to be very intermittent, but it shows up more times than not when trying to view the animals in the categories.

And then COMPLETELY unrelated, as the server is in another data center and had nothing at all to do with this move, apparenlty my hosting domain clients cannot log into their sites via FTP for some reason.

Great, just great........... :bang:

I actually got that very same message last week when placing an order...I think I kept getting it when trying to use the hyperlinks to some morphs while viewing my shopping cart. Seemed to be the only time that it happened to me as I recall.... :shrugs:
No worries though.. my order went thru just fine. :grin01:

So you are saying you got this BEFORE the server move yesterday?

Can a few of you try just clicking on the different cultivars and see if you get this problem as well? The tech working on this says he is not getting it from his end.

Sheesh, I have to get up tomorrow around 6am to go visit my mom. I REALLY don't need to be up till 4:30 again.........

Damn! I just got that same FORBIDDEN message HERE when I clicked on the More smilies button.

That's just GREAT..................... :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Coincidence??? After going to the 404ed sections of your site Rich... I am nowe getting the red X's appearing where the icons once were in Cornsnakes.com..
Hummm...

Regards.. Tim of T and J

In my opinion, the new server is failing. Probably bad memory, if past experience is any guide. I just hope to hell the databases don't get corrupted as well. Bad memory can do crap like that..........

I told the tech to just shut down the server and run diagnostics. I also suggested that he replace the RAM as that is the most likely culprit.

I've got to get to bed.........

I'm getting it from a lot of places right now. I have a feeling it's because your tech is working on it... :shrugs:

Here are just a couple:

http://www.serpenco.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=16535&cat=275&page=1
http://www.serpenco.com/shop/customer/home.php

And here is one for you.... just got one here @ CS.com too. (once when I hit Preview Post, the [More] for the smiley and once for Spell Check... :eatsmiley

Such are the trials and tribulations of a Webmaster...

that probably was me!

Yesterday Evening I Attempted to place an order.
I was going to e-mail you about the problem, but I just got home from work and I see your aready on it!

Just as I tried to make this post o_O
I went to the site, added an 07 to my cart. Just fine, went to go view the cart and error messages galore, as well as on every page I clicked back on.

I was able to go to my old server and test out the SerpenCo site there, and nary a problem. But the new server is falling on it's face big time. I did a comparison of the old server and the new server and did find something significant. The new server is not storing the PHPSESSION ID with the URLS. I suspect there might be a problem with the compile of PHP on the new server. I sent this info to the server techs with an ultimatum that this MUST be fixed no later than Sunday night or I have no other choice but to roll back to the old server. That will suck BIG time, but I don't see any other alternative at all....

Oh yeah, had a migraine headache late in the afternoon today. THAT was a surprise........... And I thought I was kidding when I told my mom that I thought I might get a brain embolism today.......... :eek1:

It looks like this problem has been fixed. Apparently some security module they installed was the culprit.

Glory Hallelujah!!!!!!!! One less headache...............

Goody!!! Now I can make my daily wish lists again! If only I had enough money to actually place an order this year....

I tell you this Rich Z I been getting my notification in my yahoo.com account in the inbox since you change server. That is where I used to get tem sinc you made the last change in the site . After the last change I dont know what you did but you did something because they started going to bulk mail now evwerytrhing is back to normal :)

A lot of spam is determined via IP addresses. With this new box, the IP address has changed. That being said, this new IP was blocked by AOL before I even got it assigned to me. I got the server guys to call AOL and get them to unblock it.

Yahoo cracks me up. I get so much spam FROM them that it is comical that they try to turn around and shoot everyone else in the foot by blocked legitimate emails labelling them as "spam". AOL is just as bad.

Well maybe, but from what I can see, their method of attack is to shoot everyone and hope that only the good guys live. The spam blockers cause just as much, if not more, of a problem than the spam itself creates.
